Chapter 8
When night fell, World War III erupted across the hall.
“Get the hell out! Both of you cheating scumbags! Disgusting homewreckers!”
Ava launched the housekeeper’s luggage out the door and cracked her across the face.
Theodore immediately pulled the housekeeper behind him. “Jesus Christ, Ava! Have you completely lost it?”
“Lily’s carrying my baby! If you hurt her, I swear to God-”
That sent Ava into full psycho mode-her eyes went bloodshot with rage.
‘I threw away everything for you! Had your sons and destroyed my body, and this is what I get?”
Theodore shot a disgusted look at the two boys huddled in the corner.
‘Harper’s boys won’t even acknowledge me as their dad, and you gave me these two disasters.”
You trying to wipe out my entire family line?”
They kept screaming at each other until finally some community mediators had to come break it up.
Theodore grabbed his pregnant girlfriend and stormed out.
But the apartment across from me didn’t quiet down.
‘Why?! Why did I have to get stuck with you two? WHY?!”
Then came this absolutely terrifying, inhuman scream.
OWWWW! Stop! Please! SOMEBODY HELP ME!”
immediately grabbed my phone and dialed 911.
About ten minutes later, five officers were pounding on their door.
Police! Open the door now!”
Ava took her sweet time answering, staring them down with pure hatred in her eyes.
‘I haven’t broken any laws. What’s this about?”
The cops peered over her shoulder into the apartment and went pale.
They shoved past her and rushed inside.
The scene was absolutely horrific.
Through my security feed, I could see Tommy sprawled on the floor in a pool of blood, the back of his head caved in.
“Officers, please! She’s trying to kill my brother!”
Tom was desperately pressing a bloody towel against Tommy’s skull, shaking like a leaf.
The paramedics rushed Tommy to the ER while the cops dragged Ava away in cuffs.
I’d figured after our little chat, Tom had gotten himself a hidden camera.
What I didn’t expect was that he’d been live-streaming everything 24/7.
1 was mindlessly scrolling through TikTok when this local video showed up on my feed.
When I clicked on it, I realized it was from Tom’s POV camera, and Ava was right there on screen.
She had her hands on her hips like some deranged hen.
“I already told you people! I’m broke. Fix him or don’t-not my problem.”
The doctor was trying to stay professional. “Ma’am, if we operate immediately, your son has a chance. But any delay could mean-”
“Could mean what? That he dies? Perfect!”
Even the cops looked ready to throttle her.
“Lady, that’s your kid in there. How can you be so heartless?”
‘My kid? These two freaks ruined my entire life!”
“I wish they’d both just die already! Should’ve happened years ago!”
Ava screamed herself hoarse, her voice cracking-until finally, she collapsed to the floor and broke down, sobbing uncontrollably.
