Chapter 7

Chapter 7

[Meredith Cross, at least you know when you’re beat. Good for you, keeping what little dignity you had left.]

[Since you’re gone, don’t you DARE come back. I’m gonna be the real Mrs. Donnelly now, and my baby will be Blake Donnelly’s only heir!]

Blake’s pupils dilated as he quickly scrolled up, only to discover way more messages-

Sloane’s ultrasound photos, pictures of him proposing to her, plus tons of arrogant, taunting messages…

Seeing all this, Blake understood everything.

I’d known about his affair all along.

Blake’s eyes went bloodshot, rage flooding his entire chest.

He’d warned Sloane countless times-NEVER let me find out about them. And she’d gone behind his back anyway!

He immediately drove to Sloane’s place.

When Sloane opened the door and saw Blake, her face lit up.

She thought Blake had given up looking for me and was now living in her fantasy of becoming Mrs. Donnelly.

“Blake, are you here to take me to your place? Let me just grab my stuff and I’ll come with you right now.”

Sloane was about to head inside happily when Blake suddenly grabbed her arm.

His face was dark as storm clouds, radiating pure menace.

“Sloane, who gave you the balls to tell my wife about us?”

Sloane stumbled backward, almost falling. Before she could steady herself, his words made her break out in a cold sweat.

She knew exactly how Blake felt about me, which was why she’d always played the good little side piece before.

But getting pregnant had made her greedy. After all, who wouldn’t want to be the legitimate Mrs. Donnelly? That’s why she’d risked texting me.

Everything had gone according to plan.

She just hadn’t expected Blake to see the messages she’d sent.

But she wasn’t stupid enough to admit it. She shook her head, trying to look calm.

“Blake, what are you talking about? I don’t understand.”

“I just want to stay by your side-I never wanted to compete with your wife for anything. I’d never text her. Are you sure you’re not misunderstanding something?”

As she spoke, her eyes filled with tears, giving Blake the most pitiful look.

If Blake hadn’t seen those arrogant texts, he might’ve believed her act.

But now, with those words burned into his brain, her lies only made him angrier. He threw the phone in her face, the screen

showing her sent messages.

With the evidence right there, Sloane couldn’t deny it anymore. She grabbed his hand desperately, trying to explain through

her sobs.

“I know I shouldn’t have done it, but I just didn’t want our child labeled a bastard! Can you really stand the thought of people calling our baby illegitimate?”

Blake laughed coldly, prying her fingers off one by one.

“Ha! He IS a bastard, isn’t he?”

“I warned you from day one-the Mrs. Donnelly position belongs to Meredith and ONLY Meredith. You never had a shot. I just kept you around for entertainment. How could you ever compete with what Meredith means to me?”

“If you’d stayed in your lane, I would’ve made sure you and the kid lived comfortably. But since you broke the rules first, don’t blame me for what happens next.”

With that, he clapped his hands and two bodyguards entered, grabbing Sloane by the arms and dragging her toward the door.

Sloane panicked instantly.

“Blake, I know I screwed up! I shouldn’t have provoked your wife, but she’s already gone and won’t come back! I’m carrying your baby-can’t we just be together now?”

Hearing the word “gone,” Blake’s eyes turned vicious as he gripped her chin hard enough to leave fingerprints.

“Meredith WILL come back! I just need to apologize and she’ll forgive me!”

“But you the bitch who destroyed my marriage-I’ll make damn sure you never get near Meredith again.”

Sloane immediately started struggling and begging.

“Blake, I’m carrying your child! This is your FIRST baby-don’t you want him?”

Blake sneered and waved for the bodyguards to take her away.

“Baby? It’s just a fetus. I’m not letting it live.”

“Take her to the hospital. Get rid of the thing, then dump her somewhere.”
