Chapter 37
Caroline
A loud roar sounds from Kazil‘ office, and I shudder. It is the same type of roar Kazil let out when he learned Seth was gone. Around eight in the morning, we discovered the warriors that guarded Seth‘ room unconscious, and the tell–tale scent of wolfsbane emanating from a wound on each of their necks.
It became a manhunt to find him, and that was when we realized many of Stormclaw’s wolves have disappeared, including Beta Kurt and that waste of space, Luke..
For twelve hours, Kazil‘ wolves searched high and low in Stormclaw territory before expanding their search to the towns and city nearby. We located Luke’s car with ease at a used car shop where the owner–a weak human–explained the boys sold the car before leaving. From there, we lost their scent, as the smell of motor oil and gasoline was too strong. Some of our wolves reached out through the pack link but were met with a strong force.
It seems Seth was hell–bent on protecting these wolves, and yet they were only a small amount of those who
were missing.
I wasn’t so mad, as it meant that Seth signed his own death warrant, and I could be with his father instead. Of course, my father wouldn’t be happy I chose Kazil, but he would understand when he learns that I am with pup, and would want what’s best for me and Kazil‘ pup that I carry.
We could always ask wolves from Ravenwood to come to Stormclaw. Make the pack stronger after the pup is born, and capture rogues to force them to become our omega slaves.
Climbing the stairs, I head straight to Kazil‘ office and knock on the door. Sounds of furniture and decorations being broken stop and the door is pulled open. Kazil greets me with a snarl, only to calm down when he realizes it is me standing before him.
“Sorry, my love,” Kazil apologizes, pulling me roughly into his arms and inhaling my honey scent. I take in his scent–warm pine–and run my hand along his back. Kazil visibly relaxes and I smile. Maybe my news can cheer him up even more, and force whatever made him roar like that to the back of his mind.
“Why did you come here? Is there news of that bastard son of mine?” he asks, pulling away from me and looking into my eyes.
“Unfortunately, no. But I do have some other news,” I answer, taking his large hand in mine and pulling Kazil to the sofa–the only piece of furniture other than the desk and computer chair not destroyed in his rage.
“Can this news wait? I have some pressing matters to take care of.” I can tell by his slight irritation that these ‘pressing matters‘ include whatever made him angry.
Sighing, I motion for him to sit down, climbing into his lap when he does. I made the right choice in seducing- Kazil when I turned twenty this year. He is a man who would do anything for power, while Seth only cares about protecting his pack. He is weak, and I need a real man as my mate.
“No, it can’t,” I deadpan, giving Kazil a pout as I take his hand that is sitting on my thigh, and place it on my flat stomach.
“We only have a few months to plan before our pup comes,” I continue. Kazil stiffens for a moment before his

fingers spread out and a look of joy appears on his face.
“A pup?” he asks in awe, his gray eyes staring into mine.
“As in our pup?” I suppress the smirk that threatens to take over and force a happy smile onto my face. Manipulating this i***t is easy, but even I knew he would sense if the pup was his or not. The only way of securing my spot in the pack is to get pregnant either by him or his son.
“Yes, Baby. Our pup,” I confirm, planting a kiss on his cheek.

“I felt sick earlier, during the search for Seth, and went to the infirmary. I got the news and rushed right here,” I giggle. Kazil‘ soft gaze remains as he silently stares at my flat stomach, still covered by his hand. I can sense the pride and greed in his gaze and just know he is thinking of how to exploit this to my father.
Suddenly, his gaze hardens, and he carefully sets me on the sofa, the anger in his body growing once more while he stalks to his desk and returns to sit beside me, his open laptop in hand.
“Well, it seems this information comes at a bad time,” Kazil grumbles, all happiness gone as he hands me the laptop. Confused, I turn the screen to me and gasp when the first thing that greets me is a still image of me being f****d by the man sitting beside me. Scared, I read the contents of what I learn is an email, and the fear
builds.
“Who did he send this to?” I ask, voice quavering as Kazil takes the laptop from my shaking hands and sets it on the floor.
“Caroline, I need you to calm down and think about our pup,” Kazil states instead, taking my shaking hands in
his.
“No, Kazil,” I shoot back, allowing the power in my blood to hum.
“Who did Seth send this to?” I ask again, conviction in my voice as I look into Kazil‘ reluctant gaze.
“Everyone,” he sighs, cupping my face in his hands.
“Including the council?” I ask, cursing myself for not checking the CC list.
“Yes.” Defeat flickers for a moment in Kazil‘ eyes, but it is replaced with a tinge of fear. There is only one reason why Kazil would show fear, and I try to pull away.
I did not want to hear the next part of this answer, knowing that if he learned of this, then I and the pup may
be in harm’s way. Unfortunately, Kazil keeps his grip on me, his gray eyes turning cold.
I can see the reluctance in their depth, but his mouth opens, and what I fear the most is true.
“He sent this to everyone, including your father.”
