Over the next few days, Abel was busy cleaning up the mess for me.
I stayed at the villa to rest and started putting together a divorce agreement.
While sitting in my study, I read over the draft again to check if anything was missing.
That was when I heard someone walking in behind me.
I looked up at Abel, who stood there holding a folder. He walked right up and handed it to me.
“This is everything I managed to find on Armstrong Pharmaceuticals from back then.”
My hands trembled as I opened the folder. “What did you find? Was it my dad’s fault?”
Abel shook his head, trying to calm me down.
“Lillian, believe in your father. You know what kind of man he was.
“Justin’s parents were involved in drug trials, but Armstrong Pharmaceuticals’ drugs weren’t the ones that killed them.”
He paused before adding, “Someone under your dad swapped out the meds with cheaper ones.
“That was what caused everything that followed.”
I felt a huge weight lifted from my chest. “Did you catch the guy responsible?”
“Yes.”
My heart dropped. Even though my father didn’t directly cause Justin’s parents’ deaths, it still happened because he didn’t keep a close enough eye on his people.
A few days later, Abel had his bodyguards drag a man over to me. He was beaten up so badly that he could barely
move.
I held my forehead in frustration. Abel was always like that-thinking violence solved everything.
“Abel, you ignored my words again.”
He paused, clearly caught off guard, then forced a smile to lighten the mood.
“Lillian, this is the guy you were looking for.”
He completely skipped over what I’d just said.
“Abel, don’t do things like this next time. You’ll get your hands dirty.

Chapter 6
“Think about how I’d feel. I’d be worried if you got hurt.”
Abel’s eyes lit up when he heard that. He nodded slowly. “Okay. I’ll do what you say.”
Since he agreed, I turned toward the man who was still kneeling on the ground.
He looked terrified. Even though the bodyguards were holding him down, he kept struggling and yelling like a mani-
“Who are you? Do you know who I am? You’ll die if you lay a hand on me! Are you courting death?” he shouted.
Abel didn’t bother arguing. He just stepped on the guy’s lower body.
“Tell us about what happened back then. If you don’t, I’ll crush this,” he said, putting more pressure on his foot.
The man screamed and finally spilled everything.
“Fine! I’ll talk. I’ll tell you everything.
“Back then, I was greedy and swapped out the proper meds for some cheap, unapproved stuff…”
The man was still covering his lower body when the cops dragged him away.
“You ruined me! I’ll make you pay!” he screamed.
I sent all the proof I found and the divorce papers to Justin.
