Justin didn’t say a word. After a long silence, he finally gave me a half-hearted answer.

“Fine. I’ll get revenge for you, lock her up, and make her apologize.

“Are you satisfied now?”

Listening to his insincere words, I shoved him away. “I’m tired. Just leave.” I turned away from him and curled up un- der the blanket.

Justin said nothing and left.

I stayed in the hospital for two weeks.

When I was discharged, Justin promised he’d come pick me up. I waited until nightfall, but he never showed up.

So, I headed back to our wedding house alone. Before I even got inside, I noticed a crowd of neighbors gathered at

the front door.

As soon as they saw me, they lit up.

“Ms. Armstrong, you’re so kind. These clothes are brand new!”

“Seriously, giving them away just like that? So generous.”

“Guess this is what it’s like to be rich!”

I noticed the clothes, shoes, and bags in their hands. They were all stuff I used to love.

My mood instantly dropped. I pushed through the crowd and stepped inside, only to see Eliza barking out orders.

“I don’t want this one or that one-they’re way too out of style!”

Seeing Eliza tossing out the things my father gave me, I completely lost it. I rushed over and yelled at the workers, “What are you guys doing?!”

Eliza turned to me without guilt. “Oh, Ms. Armstrong, you’re back. These things are outdated. Young people don’t like them. Justin said I could deal with it.”

I snapped. I ran up and slapped her. “Who allowed you to touch my stuff? This is my house! Even if we’re divorced, Justin is the one who should be leaving!”

Justin heard the commotion from the living room and rushed over. Eliza was standing there, covering her face and looking pitiful. He didn’t even ask what happened and shouted at me.

“Lillian, we’re divorced! Who I’m with has nothing to do with you!

“Did you hit her out of jealousy?”

He looked around and scoffed. “Anyway, Eliza is right. All this stuff is outdated. So what if she sells it?”

He was about to keep going, but my phone rang, cutting him off.

I answered, and my face went pale. “What? What happened to my dad?”

Right after the call ended, my eyes filled with tears. I turned around and rushed out of the house, panicking as I rushed to the front of the company building.

That was where I saw my father, lying there in a pool of blood. He was already gone.

With his assistant’s help, I quickly arranged the funeral. The shock hit my grandmother so hard, she ended up in the hospital with a brain bleed.

While I was swamped with everything, Justin went ahead and publicly announced his wedding to Eliza.

I ran straight to our former wedding house when I found Justin wanted to reuse that place as their wedding house.

As soon as I saw him, I grabbed his collar and yelled, “Justin, was it you? Did you cause my dad’s accident?”

He didn’t even look surprised. He just nodded like it was nothing. “Yeah, I did. He had it coming.”

My whole body was shaking with rage. I held onto his collar, ready to slap him.

But right before I could, Eliza suddenly jumped in and took the hit for him.

She hit the ground hard, blood quickly spreading underneath her.

Justin completely lost it. “Lillian, you’re courting death! Haven’t enough people in your family died?”

Eliza’s face went pale. “Justin, the baby… Our baby…”

His eyes burned with fury. He grabbed my shoulders roughly and roared, “Apologize!”
