Chapter 5
Her eyes were bloodshot with rage, and behind her trailed a fat pig in relentless pursuit.
I had no idea where she found the strength, but she violently yanked me out of Myles‘ arms.
She gripped my arm with a death hold, her nails digging deep into my skin, even drawing blood.
She snarled viciously, “Nathalia, you shameless b*tch! How dare you steal my man–I’ll make sure you don’t see tomorrow’s
sunrise!”
She suddenly grabbed my hair and yanked it so hard my scalp burned with pain.
The villagers watching saw how crazy Allison had become, but none dared step forward to intervene.
Only when Myles firmly gripped her wrist and forced her to let go was I finally freed from her clutches.
Seeing that Myles was actually helping me, Allison immediately put on an expression of utter grievance. “Myles, how can you help this homewrecker who’s trying to destroy our relationship? I’m your fiancée!”
She raised her wrist dramatically, showing off the watch she wore. “Don’t you remember? This is the engagement gift you gave me.”
But Myles just frowned, his expression serious as he said, “I don’t know where you stole that watch from. But I specifically had Nathalia’s name engraved on it. If you insist this is my engagement gift to you, then take it off and show everyone.”
At his words, the grievance on Allison’s face instantly froze.
The watching villagers could no longer contain themselves.
Someone called out, “Yeah, Allison, if it’s really a gift from Mr. Fisher, then take it off and let us see. Besides, isn’t your fiancé a pig? You were just kissing it earlier!”
At the mention of the pig, a flash of anger crossed Allison’s eyes.
But she still clutched her wrist protectively, scanning the surrounding crowd with suspicion.
She said, “I know you bunch of poor losers who’ve never seen anything nice–you just want to steal my watch. I won’t take it off. None of you can make me!”
In that instant while she was confronting the villagers, I seized my chance and lunged at her from the side, pinning her down.
I grabbed her hair tightly and slapped her face back and forth. I’d been waiting for this opportunity for so long!
Old and new grievances surged through me as I used all my strength to slap her over a dozen times, making her face swell up immediately.
Myles also took the opportunity to snatch the watch she’d been protecting and showed the back to everyone. “Look closely, everyone–Nathalia’s name is clearly engraved right here. She stole the engagement gift I was going to give Nathalia and pretended to be my fiancée.”
With the truth revealed, the villagers began talking among themselves, pointing and whispering about Allison.
But she remained stubborn, sobbing as she protested, “You’re lying! That’s mine! Nathalia, how dare you hit me I’m calling the police to have you thrown in jail!”
Was she seriously playing the victim now?
We were the ones being harassed by this lunatic, disrupting our peace!
Just then, the police who’d been watching the drama finally arrived on scene and pulled us apart.
Along with the pig that had been following Allison around, all
three of us were taken to the police station.
Even inside the station, Allison kept crying and making a scene. “Why are you arresting me? That b*tch stole my husband!”
The police completely ignored her protests and slammed their hand on the desk, barking, “You claim Nathalia stole your fiancé -do you have proof? They’ve been dating properly for several years, and Myles has even filed his marriage application. I’m warning you–keep making false accusations like this and I’ll throw you in jail for defamation.”
Under the police’s stern warning, Allison finally shut her mouth with a pitiful expression.
Since Myles and I were in a legitimate relationship, we were just given a lecture and released.
Before leaving, I made sure to walk up to Allison and smash that bracelet to pieces right in front of her.
I said, “Allison, how do you like this parting gift from me?”
With that, I ignored her expression of shock–her eyes nearly bulging out of their sockets–and walked away hand–in–hand with Myles.
Even after we’d walked far away, I could still hear her angry cursing mixed with profanity.
But those police officers weren’t to be messed with–a few whacks with their batons and Allison immediately quieted
down.
I thought that after a trip to the police station, she might come
to her senses.
Little did I know, I’d underestimated the destructive power of stupidity.
