Chapter 3
The next morning, as soon as I stepped into Allison’s house, I could hear the lively commotion coming from the courtyard.
I pushed open the door and saw Allison dressed fashionably, wearing the latest designer watch on her wrist.
She was radiant with joy, completely different from her usual dowdy appearance.
Today was her engagement day, and all the neighbors who had any connection to Allison’s family had come to congratulate her.
Everyone was curiously asking about her fiancé’s identity, but Allison just smiled mysteriously: “It’s nothing special. My fiancé is just like Nathalia’s fiancé–he’s also a regiment commander.”
As soon as she said this, the entire crowd erupted in amazement.
After all, in this era, for a woman to marry a regiment commander was truly an honor.
“Oh my, the women in our village are so lucky–two girls marrying regiment commanders!”
“Allison, where’s your fiancé? Everyone’s been ..aiting so long. Bring him out so we can all meet him!”
Everyone craned their necks, curiously peering toward the

But Allison remained silent, just staring intently at me.
Only when everyone grew impatient did she slowly speak: “You don’t need to guess. My fiancé is Myles.”
At these words, the crowd erupted again.
After all, everyone knew Myles was my fiancé, but now he had suddenly become Allison’s fiancé.
Just as everyone was confused, Allison spoke again: “Nathalia, I know you’ve always been jealous that my family background and education are better than yours, but you can’t destroy my relationship with Myles just because of jealousy. Everyone says shouldn’t break up other people’s marriages, but how could you be so heartless as to seduce my fiancé out of jealousy?”

The people present looked at each other in bewilderment, casting puzzled glances my way.
“Didn’t they say Myles was going to get engaged to Nathalia? How is Allison now saying Myles is hers?”
“Yeah, Myles and Nathalia have been together for several years.”
Seeing everyone speaking up for me, Allison proudly raised her wrist, showing off that brand–new watch.

She said: “See this? This watch is a gift Myles gave me. Let me tell you the truth–I knew Myles long before Nathalia did. She was jealous of me, so she deliberately seduced Myles and pretended to be with him. But a few days ago, Myles finally came to his senses. He realized I’m the one he truly loves, so he decided to break off his engagement with Nathalia and get engaged to me instead.”
No wonder that watch had disappeared from my house–she had stolen it.
I was about to speak when Allison glared at me fiercely: “Nathalia, I used to consider that you’re my cousin and didn’t want to expose you publicly. But now I have no choice but to tell the truth. You knew perfectly well that Myles and I are true love, yet you held onto him and wouldn’t let go. You did this knowingly.”
As soon as she finished speaking, whispers began spreading through the crowd.
“That watch isn’t cheap–only Myles in the whole village could afford one.”
“Right, just a few days ago I heard Myles saying he wanted to buy a watch as a wedding gift.”
With this “evidence,” many people’s attitudes toward me had already changed.

“I never thought Nathalia was this kind of person–stealing even her cousin’s fiancé. How shameless!”
“She usually seemed so well–behaved, but now she’s done something like this!”
Just like in my previous life, Allison had turned public opinion around with just a few words.
But no matter how carefully she calculated, she hadn’t counted on my rebirth.
Watching her smug expression, I spoke calmly: “Your word alone doesn’t count. Why don’t we call Myles out for a face–to–face confrontation? Let’s see whether I’m the one destroying relationships or you’re the one making things up.”
Allison snorted coldly: “The evidence is right here in front of everyone, and you still won’t admit it. You insist on having Myles come out before you’ll give up, is that it? I was trying to save you some face since you’re my cousin, but since you won’t admit it, I’ll have Myles come out and tell you himself.”
“I’d welcome that,” I said firmly.
Allison sneered: “In that case, I’ll grant your wish.”
With that, she shouted toward the house: “Myles! Myles…”
I looked at her with a worried expression: “Allison, are you sure

you can get Myles to come out?”
She shot me a cold glance and roughly shoved me aside: “I know exactly what you’re thinking. You’re just jealous that I found a good husband, so you’re deliberately stalling for time.”
As she spoke, she continued shouting toward the house: “Myles, come out quickly! Today is our engagement day–we can’t afford any delays.”
As her words faded, a portly figure wearing red flowers emerged from the house, chest puffed out with pride.
