Chapter 2
After nightfall, I dug out the fabric my family had prepared for the engagement and quietly slipped into my wedding dress under cover of darkness, then crept into the pigpen.
The overwhelming stench that hit me didn’t scare me off- instead, it stirred an indescribable excitement within me.
Clutching the red flower in my hand, I began carefully surveying the pigpen.
Most of the pigs had already settled down for the night, but one pig kept its round, beady eyes wide open, staring intently at this strange woman who had suddenly appeared.
I immediately recognized it as the big fat pig our family had been raising for several years–it was massive.
Covered in mud and filth, it reeked with a pungent odor.
Without hesitation, I made my decision–this was the one.
After placing the red flower on the big fat pig, I immediately married it.
Allison loves stealing my romantic prospects, doesn’t she? Well, I’ll give her plenty to steal.
After completing this task, I shut myself away at home.

Even when Myles came looking for me, I deliberately avoided seeing him.
Meanwhile, just like in my previous life, Allison kept finding excuses to visit my house.
She claimed she wanted to strengthen our friendship, but she was actually trying to gather information about Myles and me.
Watching Allison’s smile–seemingly caring but with ulterior motives–I suppressed my inner rage and deliberately put on a troubled expression, confiding in her: “Allison, you have no idea -Myles and I had a fight recently.”
Allison’s eyes immediately lit up, and she eagerly asked,
“How could that be? Haven’t you two always had such a good relationship? Why did you suddenly fight?”
I let out a fake troubled sigh: “I don’t know what’s gotten into him these past few days–it’s like Myles has become a completely different person. He acts like he doesn’t even know me. Yesterday when we ran into each other on the road, he actually pretended not to see me! Don’t you think that’s too much? And just because we had a little argument, he said he wants to call off the engagement!”
Hearing my complaint, Allison’s eyebrows lifted sligh.
While she continued comforting me with her words, her eyes

couldn’t hide her satisfaction.

She said, “You’re just being too sensitive. Everyone in the village knows how good Myles is to you. I heard from people who came from the city that this is called pre–wedding anxiety. Don’t worry too much–you and Myles have such a good relationship, everything will be fine.”
“I hope so,” I sighed with feigned worry.
Seeing my dejected expression, Allison didn’t say much more.
Then, as if suddenly remembering something, she spoke up: “Actually, I came here today to tell you some good news.”
“What good news?” I asked, feigning confusion while looking puzzled.
“The good news is that I’m getting engaged tomorrow.” A smug smile spread across Allison’s lips.
I asked in surprise, “You’re getting engaged? Who’s the guy? How come you haven’t mentioned anything about it?”
She said, “You’ll find out tomorrow. I guarantee it’ll be a huge surprise.”
Her words certainly piqued my curiosity.
If I hadn’t already known who she was planning to steal,

probably would have foolishly congratulated her right then and there.
As soon as Allison left, I spread the news about her engagement.
How could I let her have tomorrow’s scene all to herself?
