Lillian took the documents with a puzzled expression, flipping through them page by page.
As she read, her face grew paler and paler.
Finally, Lillian’s hands trembled uncontrollably, tears streaming down and dripping onto the floor.
Adrian took the documents from Lillian’s hands, frowning as he asked, “What did you show Lillian?”
He glanced at it once, and his face instantly turned ashen. “Harper, how did you get this document?”
I studied their equally pale faces, feeling quite satisfied. “Ms. Young, your parents‘ car accident wasn’t an accident.
“That Christmas, to break you and Adrian up, Ryan arranged for someone to kill your parents. And all the suffering you endured abroad these past years was also orchestrated by Ryan. All the evidence is in your hands–you can verify it piece by piece.”
Lillian’s hands trembled even more violently, sobs catching in her throat. She looked like she was about to collapse.
Adrian panicked. He pulled her into his arms, constantly comforting her: “Lillian, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. It’s all in the past now. I’ll protect you from now on–I’ll never let you suffer

Lillian’s emotions suddenly exploded. She threw the documents aside and pounded Adrian’s chest with her fists.
Adrian held Lillian tightly, saying nothing, letting her vent her
rage.
Lillian grew more and more agitated. She broke free from Adrian’s embrace and, like a woman possessed, slapped him twice across the face.
Adrian’s cheeks were red and swollen, his eyes rimmed with tears. He gripped Lillian’s hands tightly, not daring to make any sudden moves.
Lillian collapsed to the floor in complete breakdown, covering her face as she sobbed loudly.
Adrian crouched down without regard for his image, holding Lillian and trying to soothe her.
He said, “Lillian, I’m sorry. Let me make it up to you, okay? Everything you’ve lost, I’ll compensate you double. Please don’t be sad anymore, okay?”
I stood with my hands in my pockets, watching them coldly. Under Adrian’s comfort, Lillian’s emotions gradually calmed down.

Adrian finally breathed a sigh of relief. He looked up, glaring at me with hatred: “Harper, what exactly are you trying to do?”
I smiled and said, “I’m in hell–why should you two get to be in heaven?”
Adrian held Lillian, furious: “I’ll protect Lillian from now on. Don’t even think about hurting her again.”
I glanced at my watch and asked with a smile, “Is that so?”
Just then, Adrian’s assistant rushed in frantically, breathlessly reporting to Adrian: “Mr. Torres, the Stella Group has explicitly refused to cooperate with the Torres Group.”
