Chapter 64

Have you ever had one of those days when you wake up and you feel like something bad is about to happen? Before you even open your eyes you can feel it sitting on your chest and scuttling around the edges of your mind like insects trying to escape the light. It pulls at your being like a loose thread being tugged.

I woke up Tuesday with that weight settling into my bones and twisting in my gut like eels and yet my day started out like a dream.

I found myself in Aiden’s bed but still dressed in the sweater and leggings I had changed into when Tammy had left. Thinking about it, I must have fallen asleep when Aiden and I were talking (and kissing) and he took me to bed. I didn’t like the idea of him carrying me but it did mean I got to wake up next to him. Don’t get me wrong, it still felt incredibly surreal given that things were all over the place with him being with Tammy and me thinking Aiden didn’t like me. Then there were those amazing kisses that literally made my spine tingle only for Aiden to go M.I.A until recently. I can agree that going from not really having any contact to now being in Aiden’s bed, trapped under his arm, was a pretty big leap but I was okay th

I shifted a little so I could look at Aiden expecting him to still be asleep and yet I was greeted by his gorgeous blue eyes and dark lashes that framed them. His blonde hair was a mess but in that way good looking people manage to pull it off or like it was meant to be messy and actually it wasn’t because he had been asleep.

“Hey, how long have you been awake?” I asked curiously.

“Long enough to watch you get inside your head.” Aiden replied, his voice husky from being asleep. “I can tell when you’re thinking about me.”

“Oh?” I blinked in surprise, feeling my cheeks heating up as a blush spread across them. “How?”

He chuckled softly, the sound deep as it rumbled in his chest. “Because you blush just like you’re doing right now.”

The redness of my cheeks deepened even further at that but I had no time to hide as Aiden. leaned over, pressing his soft warm lips to mine and distracting me. I met him eagerly, shuffling closer so I could bathe in the heat of his body. His kiss was firm and seductive and yet his slow movements gave me every chance to stop him should I not like the way things were going. Somehow, I found my body under Aiden’s. He was shirtless so I could see and feel every muscle flex and move under his golden skin as he shifted to hover over me, his mouth pressing feverish kisses to my own.

Chapter 64

The feeling of his fingers slipping under my sweatshirt and skimming over my skin like feathers had me gasping. Aiden took that opportunity to plunge his tongue into my mouth, deepening the kiss and tasting me. A moan escaped me before I could surprise it and my fingers moved as if they had a mind of their own to glide over his shoulders that felt smooth and hard like marble but warm like summer under they could dive into Aiden’s hair.

I hadn’t even realised my legs had parted to cradle Aiden’s hips until his mouth left mine to trail along my jaw to my neck, a soft nip eliciting a surprised moan from me. An agonisingly delicious heat pooled between my legs as Aiden’s mouth attacked my neck while his hands explored and teased my skin which felt feverish under his touch. His hand finding my right nipple pinching sent a shock of pleasure rocketing down my spine into my core and I gasped, arching my back and pressing my hips into his, the friction so deliciously sweet and yet my body yearned for more.
