Chapter 49

A/N: Hi all! I will be back from holiday in a few days time so I should be able to work out a schedule for this story. I’ll be posting it up on my insta. I am also going to be releasing another preview for Legion which is the second book in the Hellhound Pack series and is dedicated to our favourite beta

Kade. Be sure to check it out @zaydawattswrites

anyway, enjoy the new chapter and let me know what you think of I’ll Be Seeing You so far

Noah was standing no more that twenty feet away, his black, soulless eyes trained on me, burning into me like branding irons. I felt the torrent of ice cold fear build inside of me as he smirked

What was he doing here? Did he know I was going to be here? Or was this an unhappy coincidence

Hey Ellie!”

My head snapped towards the sound of someone calling my name, my eyes landing on Max as he jogged over, a smile on his face. I blinked a couple of times as reality settled back in and I quickly glanced back towards Noah only to find Noah was no longer there. Instead it was someone else who had the same black hair and deep golden skin but otherwise looked nothing like my tormentor. There was no way he could have disappeared that quickly, surely. Had I just imagined the whole

thing

Was I so messed up that I was now imagining things? With the way my life has been going it didn’t surprise me. Why not one more shitty thing to stress about and make me question myself

Hey Max.I smiled shyly when Max came to a stop in front of me

What are you doing here all by yourself?Max asked, running a hand through his hair nervously. The others didn’t ditch you, did they?”

Oh no! Nothing like that.I laughed, my cheeks heating up as a blush crept in. I just needed some fresh air. Crowds and parties are not really my thing.”

If I’m honest, they’re not mine either.Max smiled sheepishly, his green eyes flicking around the

room

Really?I couldn’t cover my surprise. Max seemed so outgoing when we first met that I naturally assumed parties like this were right up his street

Yeah.He sighed. I mean I come because the others always convince me to but I usually try and make my escape after a couple of hours. All the noise and bodies just make me a bit uncomfortable and after a while it gets to be a bit much.”

Chapter 49

I nodded in agreement, glancing around us. It had certainly gotten busier since I stepped outside Everywhere bodies were pressed against each other, heat from so many people pulsing throughout the house making the air clammy and also impossible to breathe. No one seemed to care though. If was as if everything was getting high from the loud music, the grinding of bodies and that sticky hot air. I felt it clinging to my skin and hair and I could feel the back of my neck becoming uncomfortable with sweat. How could people enjoy this

Come on,Max motioned to the kitchen. Let’s grab a drink and try to find the others.”

I was more than happy to move away from the open plan living room slash dining room where most people were congregated. The kitchen was a bit quieter but not by much as a group of boys were currently playing beer pong on the kitchen island while other people either watched and cheered on or were chatting in corners. This time I took a can of soda that hadn’t been opened so I knew there wouldn’t be any alcohol. Max settled for a beer and we headed in the direction of where I had left the others. They weren’t there but it didn’t take long to locate them in the front yard, sat on the grass with drinks in hand

There you guys are!Kyle sighed. I’ve been messaging you both for ages.”

Sorry, I couldn’t hear my phone over the music.I confessed, shoving my hand into my jeans pocket to pull my phone out
