Chapter 6
The crowd seemed swayed by Gavin’s pitiful act, their sympathy shifting like the wind.
“Maybe it’s not entirely his fault,” someone muttered. “If she’d been a better wife, maybe he wouldn’t have strayed.”
“Exactly. She even used surveillance to spy on him. Who does that? That’s twisted.”
Just like that, the blame turned on me. Sabrina stood abruptly, pointing an accusing finger. “You violated my privacy! I’m taking legal action-don’t think I’ll let you get away with this!” “And how dare you humiliate your husband in public like this?” she snapped. “You’re disgusting!’ “No wonder he doesn’t love you,” another voice chimed in. “If I were him, I would’ve left long ago! “Maybe he cheated because of how unbearable you are. Ever think of that?”
Their words hit like stones, cruel and relentless. I looked around at their sneering faces, bile rising in my throat. I couldn’t stand another second among them.
Even the images from the video haunted me-those two entwined like lovers, a child sleeping nches away. I wanted to vomit.
The verbal attacks escalated. Even my own parents condemned me, their voices joining the
nob.
You’ve brought shame to our family!”
She’s gone too far!”
t was as if the whole room had turned against me.
Then I pulled out the final blow-Julia and Gavin’s DNA test results.
The moment the envelope was opened and read, the room fell into stunned silence.
No one dared speak. No one could.
Because the truth was undeniable-Gavin had committed the ultimate betrayal.
His face went pale with shock. He stared at me like I was a stranger.
Cassia… I… I was wrong. I’ve failed you,” he stammered. “Please forgive me!”
I never meant to hurt you like this. I was just… lost. Please, give me another chance!”
But it was too late.
The crowd, moments ago so eager to tear me apart, now turned their fury on him.
‘How could you do this to your own wife?”
‘She gave you everything, and this is how you repay her?”
Even
my parents, who had so quickly judged me, were now weeping with guilt. ‘My sweet daughter… We were wrong. We didn’t know the pain you were carrying.”
“We turned our backs on you when you needed us most.”
They looked at Gavin with disgust.
“You snake! Right under our noses, you plotted to kick her out and take her money!” “My daughter loved you, and you betrayed her like this? Shame on you!”
Gavin crumbled. The glorious victory ne mau su comuemy vagin
clean divorce, and living happily ever after with Sabrina-was in shambles.
He hadn’t expected me to be one step ahead.
The judge reviewed the evidence, his expression stern. Then, the gavel came down with a sharp crack.
“This court orders an immediate divorce. The defendant is found at fault.”
Gavin was officially declared the guilty party. Worse, he was stripped of any claim to the house.
He slumped in his seat, ghost-pale, eyes wide with disbelief.
“No… this can’t be happening. How did you… how did you know everything?”
said nothing. I stood, turned, and began walking out with my secretary.
But Gavin scrambled forward and grabbed my wrist.
“Cassia, please! I’m sorry! It’s all my fault!”
“You have to believe me-I still love you. I was just… I lost control. I made a terrible mistake!”
He knelt before me, sobbing, clutching my hand like a man drowning.
But I was unmoved. My heart was ice. I didn’t even look at him.
My father stepped forward and kicked him hard.
You filthy coward! How dare you touch my daughter!”
