Chapter 10
Third-Person POV
A collective gasp rippled through the crowd as blood trickled down Wilona’s forehead, staining the delicate lace of her pristine white gown.
“Wilona!”
Her dramatic fall shattered the last sliver of
hesitation in Alpha Simon’s heart.
He swept her into his arms, his voice rough. “Why the hell would you do this?”
Tears streaked her cheeks as she clutched his collar with blood-slicked fingers. “Simon, you know my only wish in this life was to be your Luna. Now that Judy won’t let me have it, I might as well die right here in front of everyone. Don’t blame her. Don’t blame yourself. This
is just the Moon Goddess turning her back on
me.”
She spat a mouthful of blood, deliberately
painting herself as the perfect martyr.

Simon’s eyes lifted slowly as they locked on Judy. His wolf stirred, restless and defensive.
“Judy, are you really going to stand there and watch her bleed out just to get your way? When did you become so heartless?”
The accusation hit harder than a silver blade.
So this was how he saw her. Cold. Cruel.
But she didn’t flinch. Not anymore. She was done being cast in someone else’s tragedy.
“Simon,” she said evenly, “your ceremony’s
about to start. You should head in.”
With Wilona trembling in his arms, Simon gave Judy one final look and walked away.
Someone reached out to touch Judy’s shoulder.
“Judy, let it go. Everyone knows Wilona doesn’t have long. Just don’t stir up more drama. You’re drawing too much attention.”
Judy’s voice was steady, even casual. “I told you -I’m not here for Simon today. I’m getting

married. In the hall next door. If anyone’s got time to spare, you’re welcome to come.”
Gasps fluttered through the crowd. Then she turned and walked calmly into the hotel lobby, her posture straight, her wolf simmering just beneath her skin.
Confused murmurs filled the space behind her.
“Wait… is she serious?”
“Alpha Simon’s Luna and his ex… both in wedding dresses? At the same damn time?”
“She’s marrying someone else? Who?”
Inside the adjoining hall, most of Judy’s family had already arrived-everyone except the
groom.
Her mother wrung her hands. “Grayson… What
if he doesn’t show?”
“Relax,” her father said. “The Silver Claw Pack
wolves are here. There’s no way he’d back out. I heard he flew in late last night. He’s probably just delayed,”

Her parents paced nervously, but Judy sat still. Outwardly calm. Inwardly… chaos.
She was about to bond herself to a stranger. She didn’t even know what he looked like- was he tall? Short? Did he carry the scent of strength, or the stench of arrogance?
Regret? No. She was a she-wolf of age. Time to settle. Love was a luxury she no longer had time
to chase.
Whoever this man was, he wasn’t Alpha Simon. That was enough.
From the other hall, the officiant’s voice echoed faintly. Judy’s ears twitched. Her wolf strained
to listen.
Meanwhile, Simon stood before the altar, but
his mind was anywhere but here. Judy’s scent still lingered in the air, haunting him. Had she really left? Was she bluffing?
“Miss Wilona Hubbard,” the officiant asked, “do you take Alpha Simon Johnson to be your bonded mate and husband, to honor and

cherish through the trials of life until death or
fate do you part?”
“I do!” Wilona chirped without hesitation, voice bright with triumph.
The officiant turned. “Alpha Simon Johnson, do you take Miss Wilona Hubbard to be your bonded mate and wife, to stand by her and love her alone, forsaking all others?”
Silence.
Simon didn’t respond.
“Alpha Johnson?”
Still nothing.
Wilona tugged on his sleeve, her smile faltering. “Simon? He’s waiting for your answer.”
“Huh? Oh-sorry.”
Just as Simon opened his mouth to speak, a voice rang out from the entrance.
“She wasn’t lying! Judy’s really getting married.

-in the next hall!”
“No way!”
“You’re kidding!”
“After five years of dating and no ceremony,
now this? Both of them tying the knot on the same day?”
Guests flooded toward the door, eager to witness the spectacle.
And despite knowing Judy was stealing the spotlight-again—Alpha Simon’s heart twisted with unease, his wolf pacing just beneath his skin. Something wasn’t right.
