Callahan’s words left me speechless–I was actually laughing at his shameless audacity.
Ethan, who had been silently standing behind me, finally reached his breaking point. His face darkened as he gently pushed me into the dressing room, whispering: “Stay in there. Don’t come out.‘
I nodded obediently, watching through the crack in the door as Ethan loosened his tie, and couldn’t help but worry for Callahan.
Outside, Ethan let out a cold laugh:
“Callahan, do you think I’m a pushover? Asking my Luna to sever our bond right in front of me?”
Callahan stood up with a dark expression:
“You just swooped in while Olivia was mad at me. What’s there to be proud of?”
Ethan’s voice turned razor–sharp:
“Eight years. I waited for her for eight years! Even getting lucky takes skill!”
“And you? She gave you everything… The fearless Norvinda Pack princess started watching every breath around your mother. She never lifted a finger at home but learned 200 recipes for you! She even hand–washed your shirts… And how did you repay her? You brought your mistress home and threw her out!”
I sighed unconsciously–apparently I’d looked pathetic in front of Callahan to everyone else too.
Ethan got more worked up, taking a deep breath:
“She gave you everything and this is what she got? She deserves so much better!”
Callahan was stunned:
“She told you all this? She’s sharing our private business with you–have you two been sneaking around behind my back…”

Ethan grabbed an ashtray from the table and hurled it at him.
Blood immediately streamed down Callahan’s forehead.
His eyes flashed dangerously as he swung his fist toward Ethan.
Just as they were about to fight, I burst out of the dressing room and stepped in front of Ethan.
“Callahan,” I said coldly, “leave. Now.”
Callahan stared at me, his eyes full of disbelief: “Olivia, you’re actually protecting him?”
Blood kept flowing from the wound on his forehead, mixing with tears as it slid down his cheeks.
That once–handsome face was now swollen and twisted, his white shirt stained with blood and
dirt–nothing left of his former refined appearance.
I frowned and looked away, not wanting to see anymore.
He suddenly forced out a smile uglier than crying and staggered toward the exit.
Then warm hands suddenly covered my eyes as Ethan’s low voice whispered in my ear: “Luna, don’t
look at him anymore.”
I was stunned, then sighed helplessly.
This man who was so decisive in business apparently had such childish possessiveness too.
It seemed the security I was giving him still wasn’t nearly enough.
The scandal between Callahan and Willa continued fermenting online, developing far beyond what
I’d imagined.
