The atmosphere in theThunderThorne Pack house was suffocatingly tense.
Callahan sat on the couch with a dark expression, his fingers drumming restlessly on the armrest.
Willa cowered in the corner, her head nearly touching her chest.
Ever since seeing that video at the mall, Callahan had been desperately trying to contact Olivia, only to discover he’d been blocked on everything.
He was about to storm the Norvinda Pack house when his parents called him back urgently.
Now his parents sat around the table, constantly refreshing news on their phones, their faces growing grimmer by the minute.
Ding.
Callahan’s phone buzzed.
He stared at the suspension notice on his screen, his fingers unconsciously tightening.
Almost simultaneously, Willa received her expulsion notification from the university.
Only then did Amanda and Callius put down their phones to discuss damage control.
Amanda forced a strained smile:
‘Maybe we should postpone Callahan and Willa’s mating ceremony. We can handle it after the pup is born.”
Callius slammed the table and shot to his feet:
“Bullshit! Willa’s belly is already showing, and you want to delay? They need to mate immediately!”
Amanda rubbed her temples:
“The scandal is still hot. If we hold a ceremony now, the online backlash will only get worse. TheThunderThorne Pack still has some reputation in the medical community–the bigger this gets, the harder it’ll be to recover.”

“Callahan’s just suspended for now. Given his abilities, the medical center won’t actually fire him. Once this blows over, he can return to his position.”
Callius roared:
“Willa got expelled! The internet’s calling her a homewrecker! How else can we clear her name without a mating ceremony?”
Amanda muttered under her breath: “Well, technically she is a homewrecker…”
“What did you say?!”
Callahan suddenly slammed the table, bellowing: “Everyone SHUT UP!”
The entire room fell silent, everyone shocked by his explosive outburst.
His voice turned ice–cold: “First, I will not mate with Willa. Second, after the pup is born, she’s going to the European territories for her studies.”
The air seemed to freeze as his parents exchanged stunned glances.
Callius was first to recover: “Callahan, what the hell does that mean? What are you treating Willa
like?”
Callahan closed his eyes, his tone resolute:
‘Willa and I have always been clear about this. I’ve only ever wanted to mate with Olivia. That will
never change.”
Willa kept her head down, tears streaming silently down her face, but she said nothing.
Callius trembled with rage:
‘Even now, you’re still thinking about that Norvinda Pack bitch? If it weren’t for her, how would things have gotten this bad?”
‘Dad!” Callahan cut him off sharply. “Olivia is my intended mate. I won’t let you insult her like that!”
He rubbed his temples irritably:
“This mess is my fault. She’s just throwing a tantrum. I’ll win her back.”

Hearing this, Willa finally broke down, covering her mouth as she sobbed.
Amanda slammed down her teacup:
“Throwing a tantrum? She destroyed our pack! You’ve lost your position and you’re still defending her?”
Callahan suddenly stood up, his eyes red–rimmed: “I don’t care about any of that… but I can’t lose
Olivia…”
His voice cracked as he collapsed back onto the couch.
Under everyone’s shocked stares, this usually composed and cold Alpha actually hung his head, covered his face with both hands, his shoulders shaking with suppressed sobs.
Amanda and Callius slumped onto the couch, shaking their heads at each other in speechless dismay
Willa sniffled and spoke up:
“Callahan, even if Olivia has already mated someone else, you… you still don’t want me?”
Callahan’s body went rigid. He turned to glare at her viciously:
“Shut your mouth! If you hadn’t secretly recorded that video and sent it to Olivia, she never would have left me! I was drunk that night–nothing I said was real!”
He pointed at Willa’s nose, his voice shaking:
“I must have been blind not to see what a scheming, vicious little snake you are! Get out! Get the hell out of here right now!”
Willa stared in shock, tears cascading down her face.
This man who had once been so gentle with her now looked terrifyingly vicious.
“Callahan, you never used to be like this.”
“God, you’re annoying!” Callahan irritably ran his hands through his hair. “You’re twenty–three years old and still crying like a baby. What are you, three?”
He suddenly remembered that Olivia almost never cried in front of him.

Willa suddenly clutched her belly and screamed: “It hurts… baby… don’t scare mommy…”
Here we go again.
Callahan let out a cold laugh, covered his ears and stood up.
Under everyone’s bewildered stares, he stormed out without looking back.
Right now, the most important thing was getting Olivia back.
