Chapter 4
For a whole day, Callahan didn’t contact me at all.
But his mother Amanda couldn’t wait to call me, her voice dripping with superiority:
“You know about Callahan and Willa, right? Now that Willa’s carrying our pack’s first heir, we absolutely won’t mistreat her. Callahan will definitely mate with her properly. Thank the Moon Goddess he didn’t complete the ceremony with you yesterday!”
“I always said you two weren’t right for each other. The Norvinda Pack has been in business for generations, while the ThunderThorne Pack has been healers–our bloodlines simply don’t match, don’t you think?”
I let out a cold laugh:
“Mrs. Thorne, Callahan and I have already broken up. Unless it’s pack business, please don’t contact me again.”
The silence on the other end told me she hadn’t expected my usual meek self to talk back.
Before she could explode, I hung up decisively.
She immediately called back several times.
I blocked her number without hesitation, then blocked all of Callahan’s contact information too.
I deleted every photo of us together–five years of love evaporating with each swipe.
The next day, while picking out wedding rings at a jewelry store, I unexpectedly ran into Callahan and Willa.
He was enthusiastically commissioning an expensive jewelry set for Willa, even ordering a protective charm for their unborn
pup.
When he saw me trying on rings, Callahan’s face darkened instantly:
“Olivia! I told you to go home and reflect, and you’re here buying wedding rings? You think with that attitude, I’d still mate
with you?”
He roughly grabbed my hand, yanking off the ring and returning it to the sales associate.
“We’re not buying the ring. Thanks.”
The diamond’s edge cut my finger, blood immediately welling up.
The sales associate rushed to help with my wound, but Callahan stopped them coldly:
“It’s just a scratch. Don’t bother.”
I ignored him completely.
After wiping away the blood, I told the associate: “Please get me a different ring to try.”

Chapter 4
Callahan grabbed my wrist, roaring: “Wasn’t I clear enough? You’re not buying any rings today!”
Other customers started whispering:
“That pregnant woman must be his real mate, right? This homewrecker is pretty bold, shopping for wedding rings in broad daylight.”
“Shameless. Being a mistress and still wanting official status–serves her right getting yelled at.”
Seeing this, Willa pretended to mediate:
“Olivia, stop making a scene. With all these people watching. I’m embarrassed for you. How about I give you the ring Callahan just bought me? Do you like it?”
The sales associate also tried to intervene:
“Miss, maybe you should come back another day… This disruption is making it impossible for us to serve other customers.”
Callahan’s grip tightened, clearly about to drag me out by force.
I broke free with effort:
“Callahan, what business is it of yours if I buy wedding rings? Mind your own damn business!”
“Not my business? Fine. I’m officially calling off our engagement–you’ll never need wedding rings again!”
He shoved me hard.
Just as I stumbled and was about to fall, steady hands caught me.
Ethan’s voice whispered in my ear:
“Luna, sorry I’m late.”
