Chapter 3
1 took a deep breath and looked mockingly at Willa, who had followed me in
“That desperate, huh? Couldn’t even wait for me to leaver
A flash of embarrassment crossed her face before she put on an innocent expression:
“Olivia, what are you talking about? Callahan had the staff pack everything up. I didn’t do anything,”
1 pointed coldly at the footprint on one of my gowns:
“The staff did this too?”
“So what if I did?”
She suddenly lowered her voice, a vicious glint in her eyes, but then backed away as if frightened.
“Olivia, please don’t hurt met
Then she suddenly screamed and pretended to fall backward.
Callahan rushed in just in time to catch her.
Willa immediately dutched her belly, sobbing
“Callahan, I didn’t do anything! Why did Olivia push me… Thank god you came, or the baby…”
“I didn’t push her!” My throat tightened as I instinctively defended myself.
Callahan’s eyes blazed with fury as he grabbed my throat and slammed me against the wall:
“You think I’d believe that? Willa would risk her pup just to frame you? When did you become so fucking vicious?”
His grip was terrifyingly strong–I could barely breathe, struggling desperately to get the words out.
“I really… didir…”
“Enough! I don’t want to hear your bullshit excuses!” His anger turned to cruel laughter as he threw me to the floor. “Get the hell back to the Norvinda Pack and play princess! When you figure out how to act right, then you can come crawling back!”
I stumbled to my feet, staring at him in disbelief.
It was almost midnight, and he was throwing me out?
I remembered how he used to insist on walking with me even if I just went for a late night stroll
Now he stood there with his chin raised, not even bothering to look at me.

Chapter 3
My nose stung with unshed tears.
How many times had he lost his temper with me today–all for Willa’s sake?
No matter what I said or did, I was always wrong in his eyes.
And today was supposed to be our mating ceremony.
I closed my eyes, didn’t even grab my clothes, and fled that suffocating place without looking back.
I’d barely gotten back to the North family estate when my phone started buzzing.
It was a video from Willa.
I knew I shouldn’t open it, but my finger hit play before I could stop myself.
On screen, Callahan was tenderly holding Willa, his eyes closed as he gently kissed her forehead, looking completely blissful and content.
His voice carried a hint of regret:
“Willa, if I’d met you earlier, I never would’ve gotten involved with Olivia. You’re so gifted in healing, so pure and driven. But her? She just throws around her pack’s influence, never takes anything seriously.”
“TheThunderThorne Pack has been healers for generations. If I actually mated with her, she’d ruin our reputation eventually.”
Every word was like a poisoned needle, hitting exactly where it would hurt most.
Willa had been adopted into theThunderThorne Pack because her blood carried rare healing properties–that’s how she
became his “sister.”
That was his definition of “gifted.”
Meanwhile, I’d turned down my family’s resources to start from the bottom, working my way up to Investment Director at
Norvinda Industries.
To him, that was “not taking anything seriously.”
Turns out I was always worthless in his eyes.
How could he have ever truly cared about me?
I set down my phone as tears soaked into my pillow.
Just as dawn was breaking, Ethan called.
“Morning, beautiful. Sleep okay?”
His voice was warm and tender, buzzing with barely contained joy.

Chapter 3
“Just landed in Milan–couldn’t sleep a wink on the plane thinking about you. I still can’t believe my dream girl actually
married me.”
His tone turned impossibly soft:
“I’m already missing you like crazy. Tell me you miss me too?”
Luna?
That word snapped me fully awake.
I suddenly remembered–yesterday, in my rage, I’d actually gotten a marriage license with Ethan.
“Babe? You’re quiet. You… you’re not regretting this, are you?”
The vulnerability in his voice was heartbreaking.
“No,” I answered softly.
Ethan and I had grown up together. Even if I wasn’t sure about my own feelings, at least I knew his heart.
The Dante and North families were perfectly matched–he really was everything I could want in a mate.
The relief in his voice was immediate as his excitement returned:
“God, I love you. I’m catching the first flight back tomorrow! We’re picking out the most gorgeous rings, planning the perfect ceremony–I know we rushed the paperwork, but you deserve to be worshipped properly.”
“Just focus on being the most stunning Luna in werewolf history. I’ll take care of everything else, sweetheart.”
I found myself smiling for the first time in hours, agreeing to his plans.
That was Ethan.
With him, I was cherished, protected–I never had to fight for scraps of attention.
But Callahan…
All I could remember were his hurried exits, his reluctance when I’d brought up the mating ceremony.
Back then he’d frowned and said: “Only five years together–isn’t bonding a bit rushed?”
The difference between being loved and being tolerated was crystal clear.
