Chapter 84 Melody’s “Miscarriage”
Ginny turned and walked away, disappointment clinging to every step.
Chandler watched her back, something uneasy stirring in his chest. His hand instinctively reached out to stop her.
“Ginny, wait–don’t go. Say what you mean before you leave.”
He took a step after her. “Is there some kind of misunderstanding? Just stop–please.”
She stopped, but didn’t turn around. She didn’t want to face those eyes again—those doubting eyes that cut deeper than any
words ever could.
“I’ve said everything that needed saying,” she replied. “What’s left is whether you believe me or not. But then again, you’ve already given me your answer. I’ll head back now. Don’t worry— I won’t force you to talk divorce on your grandfather’s birthday. But I’do need a clear date from you. Soon.
“If you don’t love me, why keep hurting me like this, Chandler? Don’t make me lose even the last shred of respect I have for
you.”
She walked off, not looking back.
Chandler wanted to follow her. He really did. But just as he

moved forward, his gaze fell on Melody, dancing not far away. And that moment of clarity struck.
Melody was carrying his child now.
Whether Ginny believed it or not, what did it matter anymore? If it didn’t matter, then why rush to explain?
The music ended. A few scattered, half–hearted claps followed.
Melody noticed. She swallowed her frustration, managing to keep her face composed.
This was all Ginny’s fault. If she hadn’t shown up, today would’ve been her moment.
Still clinging to her plan, Melody went inside, changed her outfit, and made her way toward the staircase.
Ginny didn’t like crowds–never had. After speaking with Josh, she found a quiet spot to pass the time. She hadn’t been there long when Melody appeared.
Seeing her, Ginny instinctively turned to leave.
“What, are you that scared of me? I show up and you immediately run?”
No one else was around. Melody didn’t bother pretending anymore. “If you’re so afraid of me, why not just divorce

Chandler already? That way, I’d stop targeting you.”

Ginny turned back. “I’ve done nothing to wrong you. Why would I be afraid?”
Melody smiled and stroked her still–flat stomach deliberately. “Chandler says that once the baby is born, he’ll teach him how to shoot. He wants him to join the Special Ops Unit someday–to be a hero, just like his father.”
Ginny stared at her theatrical show of happiness, unable to hold back a bitter laugh. “Give birth to what? Air?”
Melody’s eyes widened. So Ginny knew. That made it all the more urgent to move forward with her plan.
But for now, she forced herself to appear calm, feigning disbelief. “What nonsense are you talking about? You’ve been a mother. You know how painful it is to lose a child. How can you curse mine like this?
“I thought your refusal to let me and Chandler be together was just jealousy. But now I see it–you’re cruel. Rotten to the core.”
Ginny was done with the performance. She turned and started down the stairs.
And then, a body tumbled down beside her, followed by a sharp, blood–curdling scream.

People came running.
Mrs. Wheeler arrived first. The moment she saw her daughter lying there in blood, she let out a scream and raised her hand to slap Ginny.
Ginny moved fast and dodged.
“How dare you? Ginny, we will make you pay for this!”
Jake and Kevin stormed over, rage in their eyes, practically spitting fire at her.
Ginny kept her composure, swallowing the knot of panic rising in her throat. “I didn’t touch her. She fell on her own.”
“You expect us to believe she used her own unborn child to frame you?” Jake snapped. “You think we don’t know how much she cares about that baby? More than her own life!”
As he shouted, Chandler finally appeared.
The Wheeler brothers turned to him, demanding punishment, demanding answers.
“Chandler, you have to give our family justice. Don’t let Ginny get away with this.”
But Chandler didn’t answer them. His eyes were locked on Ginny–filled with disbelief.

“Why? I thought… even if you hated me, you’d at least still care about Melody. But even if you didn’t, how could you do this to a child who hasn’t even been born?
“You lost a child once. You know how that pain feels. How could you make someone else go through it too?”
Always. Always, when something went wrong, Chandler was the first to stand on the opposite side of her.
Was she really that cruel in his eyes? So much so that he never even considered believing her?
Ginny looked at him with a tired, bitter smile.
“Did you see me push her? If you didn’t, then show me proof. If you have no proof, then you’re accusing me based on nothing
but emotion.”
“You’re still denying it when the evidence is right in front of us?”
Even Melody’s father, who used to think well of Ginny, was shaken. He now saw her as heartless and dangerous.
“There are surveillance cameras,” Josh finally said. “Let’s check
them.”
He believed Ginny, But the Wheeler family.was furious. The only way to cool them down was to show them the truth.
