Chapter 65 Chandler, Just Sign the Divorce Papers
“Do you think she’ll post the recording online?”
After Ginny left, Chris called his brother, Kevin.
When Kevin heard what his younger brother had done, he cursed him out first, then told him to pass the matter on to Chandler and have him go get the recorder back from Ginny.
The idea lit up Chris’s face.
Ginny still liked Chandler. If he asked her personally, she’d probably give in.
Hanging up, he dialed Chandler without hesitation.

Meanwhile, Ginny had just returned to hér hotel room. She was about to order takeout when the doorbell rang.
She didn’t rush to open it. Instead, she went to the peephole, wary that some rabid fan might’ve found her room and was here to cause trouble.
She liked this hotel. She’d just finished cleaning the place
herself. If she gol kicked out over some stranger’s tantrum, that would be the last thing she wanted.

Caution first.
But when she looked out the peephole, there was no one there.
That’s when her phone rang.
It was Chandler.
She wasn’t planning to pick up, but then she heard his voice through the door. So he was the one who knocked.
Reluctantly, she opened it. “What do you want?”
“This is why you’d rather run away than come home?”
He had just found out that she’d resigned. And when he heard where she was staying, his frustration only grew.
But when he saw how drained she looked, the sharp words caught in his throat.
“Aren’t you supposed to be strong and capable? What happened? Why’d you quit?”
Ginny didn’t even glance at him. She turned and walked back into the room.
She’d ended up in this mess because of him.

He’d disappeared for days–not a call, not a text. Now, suddenly he showed up, only to criticize her for not fighting the hospital harder. As if it were all so easy.
He didn’t care. That’s why his words came so casually.
There was a flicker of mockery in Ginny’s eyes. Her voice was flat. “Just say whatever it is you came here to say. At this point, let’s not pretend to be polite. We can’t even fake that anymore. No point wasting each other’s time.”
Chandler had come intending to check in on her. To ask how she’d been, why she didn’t visit after hearing about his injury.
But faced with her cold indifference, everything he’d wanted to say got stuck in his throat.
“Did you just meet with Chris?”
For a second, Ginny thought–maybe he was truly here for her, that he still cared, even if only a little.
But the moment those words left his mouth, the last shred of hope inside her vanished.
All that remained was disappointment—and disgust.
“Chandler, don’t tell me you came here to help Chris get that recording.”

“Do you even know what he said to me? If you know and you still choose to help them… then I was a fool to ever think you
different.”

Her voice cracked at the end, disappointment brimming in her
eyes.
He hated that look–the way she looked at him like she no longer believed in him.
But he thought of what Chris had said, and forced himself to speak. “That’s beside the point. You were wrong to record him without telling him.
“Just hand over the recorder, delete the file, and let’s pretend today never happened. Otherwise, I might be the one truly disappointed in you.
“The Ginny I used to know wasn’t petty like this. She wasn’t vengeful.”
Ginny let out a bitter laugh. “And who do you think made me this way? If I had the luxury of an easy life, do you think I’d have turned into someone I barely recognize? You’re the one who pushed me here, Chandler. And now you stand there, shameless, acting like you’re the victim?”
She had never hated him more than she did now. Never regretted her choices so deeply.

“What if I don’t give it to you?” She looked him dead in the eye, her voice steady, her tone resolute.
Chandler’s brow tightened. “Then what do I have to do to get it?”
“Have Melody apologize to me–publicly, online.”
She threw Chris’s conditions right back at him.
He didn’t even hesitate. “Impossible. She’s not in good health. She’s pregnant. She couldn’t handle the blow. Besides, she didn’t know anything about this from the start.”
Did she really not know?
Only Chandler would believe that.
In his eyes, Melody was perfect. And Ginny? The one always at fault.
Was this all because she married him?
Ginny scoffed. “Since you can’t agree to my condition, then please leave.”
“You’re really going to be like this?” he asked, frowning deeply.
She didn’t answer. She turned to the window. “Close the door behind you. And while you’re at it, hurry up and sign the divorce

papers. You’re disappointed in me? Well, guess what–I’m just as disappointed in you.
“If we can’t even recognize each other anymore, what’s the point of holding on to this marriage? Chandler, just sign the damn papers.”
