Chapter 155
Across the road from the Science Museum is the coast.
Sophia and Vincent stood side by side, facing the sea.
The waves lapped at the golden colored sandy beach, and seagulls flew by overhead.
Vincent’s voice was cold and deep, “Originally I didn’t intend to let you know about these two robots now, but seeing that you’ve been in a bad mood lately, I asked them to work overtime to get the foundation done first, and this time it’s true that it was a bit of a rush, so if you’re not satisfied, you can
mention it.”
“No need.” Sophia’s voice was cold, “I respect the development of science and technology, and I also recognize the dedication and hard work of the researchers, but this gift of yours, I won’t accept it.”
Vincent looked at her sideways, seemingly puzzled, “Why?”
Sophia turned her head and stared into his eyes, she couldn’t help but sneer and ask, “Vincent, what do you think I am losing?”
Vincent was stunned.
“You can’t come back from the dead.”
Sophia’s voice was calm, “I admit that losing a loved one has caused me a lot of pain, I’ve been depressed about it, and I’ve given up on myself, but I’m not so bad that I can’t distinguish between reality and illusion because of it. A machine is just a machine no matter how realistic it is, and the AI can replicate my memories, but it can never replicate my emotions.”
She paused, taking a deep breath to calm her emotions before continuing:
“Vincent, I don’t care what your purpose is for doing this project. But I can clearly tell you now that I don’t need to rely on machines to heal my emotional pain, it’s certainly brutal and difficult, but I’ll come out of it, it’s just a matter of time. So with this gift of yours, I refuse.”
Vincent frowned at her, his dark eyes heavy.
It was only after a moment that he spoke in a deep voice, “I thought that this project would at least make up for your regrets.”
“There are always regrets in life. I’m going to live and I’m going to learn to accept regrets, but I’ll never forgive you and Doris.”
Sophia’s voice was cold, unwilling to continue discussing the topic with Vincent, turning to the point of the trip.
“Tomorrow is the third day,” she reminded, “What are you going to make me do that I can say now?”
Vincent stared at her, his eyes obscure.
The sea breeze ruffled Sophia’s hair, and a few strands fell on her cheeks.
She raised her hand to ruffle it away with her fingertips, and mixed with the sound of the waves, she heard the man’s low voice: “The stuff will be delivered to your room in the evening, and by then, you’ll know.”
At that, Sophia asked no more questions, turned and walked straight across the street to where the car was parked.
Vincent turned back to look at her.
The woman’s back was slim, the sea breeze blew her long hair out of order and her skirt fluttered.
He silently withdrew his eyes.
Back at the hotel, Vincent took a phone call and drove off again.

Chapter 155
Arthur doesn’t follow him, but goes to the door of Karina and Sophia’s room and raises his hand to knock
Karina came and opened the door, “Dr. Arthur, what’s the matter?”
“How is Ms. Sophia’s health? Do you want me to help look at it?”
After saying that, Karina directly closed the door of the room.
Outside the door, Arthur stared at the closed door of the room with a slight frown.
Wasn…… Karina’s reaction a little paranoid?
He raised his hand and stroked his chin, pondering.
At three in the afternoon, though, Sophia was so sleepy that she lay down and quickly fell asleep again.
In her dream she dreamed again of blood flowing beneath her, and again awoke from her dream!
The room was dimly lit, with only the bedside nightlight on.
Noticing her waking up, Karina, who was lying on the other bed playing a game, put down her cell phone, “Awake?”
“Uh–huh.” Sophia raised her hand and wiped her forehead, it was covered in cold sweat.
Karina turned on the room’s headlight.
The room was bright.
Sophia sits up as her cell phone vibrates on her nightstand.
Someone had texted her.
She clicked on it, but it was a couple of wedding photos.
Vincent and Doris‘.
