Chapter 5
It was no exaggeration to say that Ebony married me in the wedding of the century.
I also noticed that every flower in the wedding hall was fake, although that must have been arranged that way because I liked flowers but was also allergic to pollen.
While I was still left surprised by how Ebony knew about my preferences, we all heard a wolf’s howl from outside the building.
Soon, a servant came in to inform us that a Lycan had gone amok outside in his beast form and was clawing the gate outside.
I was stunned-beastfolks only ever reverted completely to their beast form due to emotional trauma.
That meant that Sirius somehow wasn’t traumatized by Lola’s true nature, but by the fact that I was getting marked with someone else.
In the past, I might have been convinced that he cared.
Now? I just thought he was being pathetic-what was the point of desiring something that he didn’t have, when he didn’t care to cherish it when he had it?
Hence, as everyone cheered, Ebony and I exchanged our rings and kissed.
As we left the wedding hall in his car and headed to the bridal suite, there was a giant cage outside, with a giant silver-fur wolf inside.
I thought I could see Sirius tearing up, but he couldn’t do anything as he watched our car disappear into the distance.
When it was just me and Ebony in our bridal suite, I couldn’t help blushing at the sight of his handsome face and breathed, ” You’re different from what the rumors say…
Ebony grinned even as he carefully helped me take off my hair ornaments. “What rumors?”
“That you’re hideous, bloodthirsty, and…”
He chuckled. “Impotent?”
I pursed my lips awkwardly, but before I could offer some reassurance, he pulled me into his arms, his emerald-like eyes gazing lovingly into my own. “May I, my love?”
Bewitched by his gaze, I nodded in embarrassment.
It wasn’t until we were getting marked properly that I gaped in shock. “Is that…?”
Ebony breathed in his husky voice, “Yes, my love…”
His tenacity certainly disproved the rumors further later in the night, though it wasn’t until five days later that our marking was formally over.
My hips were sore as I got out of bed, and I swore I almost reverted to my beast form a few times before that.
That was when we heard a ruckus outside, and I opened the window to see Sirius waiting outside on his knees, holding a huge bouquet of roses.
I remembered that there were these two downpours over the last five days, but he never left, only asking someone to help change to fresh roses when the old bouquet wilted.
However, all I felt about his presence was annoyance–who did he think he was trying to show off to?
I had a new life now-Sirius’s presumptuous behavior only affected it.
Still, I felt a warmth pressing against my back just as I closed the window. “What are you looking at?”
Still, Ebony soon frowned and clicked his tongue when he saw who was downstairs. “Talk about persistent.”
That was when Sirius looked up, his dull gaze lighting up when he saw me… only to watch as Ebony bared his teeth at him provokingly the next.
Then, Ebony pulled me into his arms and kissed me.
I hugged Ebony in turn, making sure that I was tender and affectionate like never before.
That must have stung-Sirius dropped his bouquet right then as he got up.
His eyes wide with rage, he was about to roar at Ebony, but he couldn’t make a peep as he hadn’t had a sip of water for as long as he waited outside.
