Chapter 408
The room fell silent as everyone curiously eyed the triplets.
Lucas stepped forward. “As you know, we’re turning six. That’s a big deal.”
“Huge, Lily nodded solemnly, clutching her stuffed unicorn for moral support.
Brandon leaned toward Katherine, whispering, “Are we really taking orders from kids?”
“Shh,” Katherine elbowed him playfully. “They’re clearly running this show.”
Alex cleared his throat. “Our birthday wish is special this year. Instead of presents and parties, we want something better.”
Lucas picked up where his brother left off: “Dad’s legs aren’t completely better yet. We want him to recover quickly, so he can run and play basketball like before.”
“And,” Lily added, her voice sweet but determined, “Mom and Dad need alone time! Without us making noise!”
Alex spoke again, this time looking directly at each adult in the room: “So, our birthday wish is: let Mom and Dad go to the research center for intensive treatment, while the rest of us handle all responsibilities and make sure everything runs smoothly.”
“And we’ve made a plan,” Lily announced proudly. “Operation: Claiming Daddy’s Billionaire Empire!”
A ripple of bemused laughter circled the room.
“Interesting name choice, Joseph commented, eyes twinkling.
Adam couldn’t help but smile as the triplets launched into their elaborate explanation, complete with hand gestures and the occasional interruption from each other. Beside him, Irene watched with a mixture of pride and amusement, her fingers laced through his.
Sophia was the first to speak up: “I think it’s a brilliant idea,” she said, showing surprising enthusiasm, “Marcus and I would be happy to temporarily oversee Haven Enterprise operations.”
Marcus nodded in agreement: “The board won’t mind–I still hold a substantial number of shares, after all.”
Brandon frowned, crossing his arms: “What about my leg therapy? Are you suggesting Katherine takes over?”
‘Got a problem with that?” Katherine challenged with a raised eyebrow.
Brandon’s cheeks colored slightly: “No, I just-”
“Uncle Brandon’s scared of Aunt Katherine,” Lily said in a stage whisper, causing several adults to stifle their laughter.
‘I am not afraid- Brandon stammered, but Katherine placed her hand on his arm, cutting him off.
“Relax, tough guy,” she said, “I promise to be gentle.” Her wink could have melted steel.
‘I’d be happy to assist with Wesley’s nerve therapy,” Emily chimed in. She had arrived from R Country just the day before. “Irene has already briefed me thoroughly on his condition and treatment plan.”
Wesley nodded gratefully, a spark of interest in his eyes as he studied Emily: “You’re a neuroscience specialist?
“Yes, my focus in R Country was primarily on neural injury repair, Emily replied with a smile. “Your case is perfect for our new treatment approach.
“Hoping it’ll make my hands steadier,” Wesley said softly, his eyes shifting slightly. “It’s crucial for my painting.”
“What about Great–grandpa?” Lily asked with concern, looking at Joseph. “He needs his special tea and medicine every day.”

Rose straightened in her seat: “John and I would be honored to look after Joseph. II… everyone thinks that’s appropriate. She glanced tentatively at freng, look that spoke volumes about their relationship that still needed healing.
Joseph smiled gently: ‘I would enjoy your company, Rose,”
‘I’ll manage Sterling Group’s daily operations, Nathan confirmed. “I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to implement some new strategies.
*I’ll stick around with Brandon and prep for entrance exams, Ethan spoke up from the corner. Though I might need some help with calculus.”
can assist with that, Thomas volunteered, earning a grateful nod from the teenager.
The triplets exchanged victorious glances, clearly satisfied with how smoothly their plan was unfolding.
“So, Alex turned to Irene and Adam, ‘what do you say? Can our ‘Claiming Daddy’s Billionaire Empire‘ operation replace our birthday party?”
Irene and Adam shared a look, both deeply moved by the children’s selflessness and thoughtfulness.
“If this is truly what you want for your birthday gift, Irene said softly, “then I suppose we have no reason to refuse.”
“Awesome! The triplets cheered, their faces radiating joy as they watched everyone come together to support their plan.
“Genius Kids‘ Scheme: Claiming Daddy’s Billionaire Empire is officially launched!” Alex announced, eyes sparkling.
Adam couldn’t help but laugh out loud: “That name is seriously creative. How did you come up with it?”
‘Because you’re a billionaire,” Lucas explained innocently, “but we don’t want your money, we want your heart!”

The statement made everyone laugh, but something warm and genuine passed through the room-) moment, with laughter binding them together, a true family was taking shape.
Later that evening, the house filled with the mouthwatering aroma of Irene’s special lasagna as everyone gathered around the dining table. The formal room had been transformed with strings of twinkling fairy lights that cast a soft glow over silver balloons and blue streamers dancing from the ceiling. The triplets, still riding the high of their plan’s success, squirmed excitedly in their seats of honor.
Brandon twirled pasta around his fork, eyeing the kids with amused disbelief. “Let me get this straight–you three willingly passed up mountains of presents for a treatment plan?”
‘Not just any treatment plan,” Alex corrected, chin lifted with pride. “The best one ever.”
“Totally worth it,‘ Lucas nodded, sauce dotting his chin.
Irene emerged from the kitchen balancing a steaming platter decorated with roasted vegetables arranged into artistic number sixes. Her face glowed in the warm light as she set it down. “Birthday tradition,” she explained, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “Every year, their age shows up somewhere in the meal.”
Been doing this since they were tiny,” she added, ruffling Lucas’s hair as he attempted to snag a carrot six. “Ah–ah! Wait for everyone.”
Adam watched her, caught in one of those moments where his heart seemed too full for his chest. The casual grace with which she maintained these traditions–traditions he was only now discovering–left him in awe. Across the table, he caught Joseph’s knowing smile and slight nod.
“Hold on a sec, Adam said, wheeling back from the table. “I’ve got something for the birthday squad.”
