Dante sighed and shook his head in disappointment.
Dante couldn’t help but wonder how someone as outstanding as Skylar ended up with a sister like this. He said, “She used those very awards you look down on to get into top schools overseas.”
Freya kept getting slapped with reality, over and over.
Dante added, “However, since she was too busy, she declined their offers even after being admitted. Those top universities even personally wrote back, offering her an open invitation to attend whenever she was available.
“And they even promised her a professorship there once she finished her studies.”
Freya’s heart bled with envy. Those top schools were places even money couldn’t buy admission to.
She thought, ‘Once she graduates from a place like that, not only will job opportunities come effortlessly, but she’ll also gain access to exclusive connections that most people could only dream of.
‘Wealthy families never lack money. What they’re really short on is connections.‘
Dante gave Freya a long, hard look. “With her talent, she’d never need to resort to dirty tricks to get what she wants.
“As her sister, you not only fail to understand her, but you also actually go so far as to misinterpret her. Instead of defending her in front of others, you deliberately tear her down. Honestly, you’re a disgrace as a sister.”
Freya covered her mouth, offering forced apologies to Dante Babin, Skylar, and Tucker.
“Freya, is whining and crying all you’re capable of?” snapped Tucker. He thought Freya was intelligent, but to his dismay, she turned out to be so stupid.
Tucker snapped, “Pull yourself together and stop embarrassing yourself here.”
Freya wiped away her tears and managed to stop crying.
Tucker apologized to Dante in a gentle tone. “I’m truly sorry. My student didn’t know any better and caused you trouble.” He then pulled Freya forward, making her bow and apologize as well.
Freya was forced to bow and apologize, grinding her teeth in fury.
After all, they were at the same university and would inevitably run into each other. Dante didn’t want things to get too awkward.
He waved it off. “I’m fine. None of this really got to me. It’s just that…
“Skylar must be really upset after being spoken to like that.”
Tucker then made Freya apologize to Skylar
Freya forced out an apology through gritted teeth to Skylar.
Skylar watched Freya’s suppressed resentment with a faint smile.
Dante turned his attention back to her, still persistent. He extended the invitation once more. “Skylar, the Computer Science Department at Quante University will always welcome you. Just give me a call whenever you’re ready.”

Skylar nodded. “I understand. Thank you.”
After chatting for a while, Dante excused himself as he had other matters to attend to, and left with Tucker.
Now only Skylar and Freya remained.
Skylar had just turned to leave when Freya, limping unsteadily, blocked her path. “Skylar, you did this on purpose, didn’t you?”
Skylar shot back, “What exactly did I do on purpose?”
Freya snapped, “You’re so damn talented, yet you just kept your mouth shut and watched me clown around like a complete fool.”
Skylar raised an eyebrow. “You didn’t even ask. If I’d brought it up myself, you’d just say I was showing off. You’re so hard to please.”
Freya’s face flushed as anger surged in her chest. She spat, “Stop playing word games. You had every chance to speak up, but you just stood there and watched me make a fool of myself in front of Mr. Babin. Don’t you dare claim it wasn’t on purpose?”
Skylar replied coolly, “If you didn’t want to embarrass yourself, you could’ve kept your mouth shut. But you just had to, didn’t you? So who else can you blame but yourself?”
She looked at Freya with cool detachment. “Ultimately, you brought this humiliation upon yourself.”
