Just as she was about to come up with an excuse to back out, Carlos waved his hand decisively. “Skylar, go check it out. If you really like the school and want to keep studying, I’ll get you a tutor.”
Skylar wasn’t really interested in studying. She already had multiple businesses to run.
While Leon managed her other ventures, freeing her from much concern, Phidon was still in its fledgling stages. To expand and strengthen Phidon would demand more of her attention.
But not wanting to disappoint Carlos, she agreed anyway. “Thanks, Dad.”
Freya lowered her head, biting her lip in frustration.
Unwilling as she was, Freya still had no choice but to take Skylar to Quante University.
The next morning, Freya acted casual, linked arms with Skylar, and flashed a sweet, practiced smile. It was the perfect show of sisterly affection.
As soon as they stepped outside, Freya shook off Skylar’s hand and dusted off her clothes with visible disgust, muttering under her breath, “What bad luck.”
Freya muttered her complaint under her breath, thinking no one would hear, but Skylar caught every word.
Skylar didn’t get mad. Instead, right in front of Freya, she smirked and deliberately wiped her hands several times on Freya’s sleeve. “Freya, your clothes are so soft, just perfect for wiping my hands.”
Before heading out, Freya picked a brand–new outfit and dressed up with extra care.
Freya’s eyes blazed with fury as she shrieked, “Skylar, are you seriously using my brand–new outfit as a rag?”
Skylar put on an innocent look. “Isn’t this just a rag? I just saw you do the same.”
“Skylar, you white trash. Do you have any idea how expensive this outfit is?” Freya shrieked.
Skylar scoffed, “How expensive can a rag be?” She pulled out her phone and transferred three dollars to Freya on the spot. “Three dollars at most.”
Skylar pocketed her phone, paying no mind to Freya’s sputtering fury, and climbed into the car without a second glance.
Freya chased after her, ready to scold, but Skylar turned with a knowing smirk. “If you say anything out of line today, Mom and Dad will hear about it tomorrow. You know what that means.”
Freya knew exactly what Skylar meant.
She glanced at the driver up front and gritted her teeth.
She just got Mom and Dad back on her side. She couldn’t blow it all now.
Freya forcibly swallowed her surging rage, her face twisted in a sour grimace.
Skylar paid no attention to Freya’s murderous glare and simply closed her eyes to rest.
As soon as they arrived at the university and the car drove off, Freya immediately dropped the act.
Freya crossed her arms with her nose in the air and sneered, “Listen, Skylar, you’d better keep your mouth shut later. I don’t want everyone to see how uneducated you are and make me and our family a laughingstock.”
Freya’s snarky tone was downright irritating.

Freya was so furious that she nearly choked on her own rage.
Fuming, Freya clicked her heels angrily as she caught up with Skylar. The sharp sound of her high heels echoed as the two of them entered Quante University together.
Freya walked into the campus with her nose in the air, looking super smug. She said in a fake–sweet voice, “Skylar, without me, you’d never even dream of being here, right?
“Don’t even think about coming here to study. Just give up that fantasy right now.”
Freya sized Skylar up and down with a sneer. “Know your place. Don’t waste your time or the Lambert family’s resources.”
Skylar remained unfazed by Freya’s repeated provocations. She merely raised an eyebrow as she asked, “Don’t you think you’re meddling a bit too much?”
