Chapter 88
Skylar couldn’t believe Freya had taken advantage of the situation and managed to impersonate her.
But she didn’t care anyway. Fakes couldn’t last forever.
Skylar had no intention of exposing Freya. She simply dropped the subject and went about her own business.
The past few days, Freya remained unusually quiet and hadn’t made any moves.
Skylar wondered if Freya had really turned over a new leaf and wanted to get along, or if she was just biding her time for a big move.
Even if Freya tried to mess with her, Skylar wasn’t worried. ‘Whatever she throws at me, I’ll handle it,’ she thought.
Instead of waiting for Freya to make her big move, Skylar was surprised to hear that Freya had been accepted into Quante University’s graduate program.
Freya waved her admission letter, her face lit up with excitement. “Mom, Dad, look. I got accepted into the graduate program at Quante University.”
Quante University ranked among the nation’s top universities. Getting into its graduate program was no small feat. Only the truly exceptional made it
here.
Yana said, “That’s wonderful. Once Blake and Joshua are back, we will have a nice dinner to celebrate.”
Over the past few days, Freya hadn’t caused any more trouble, and Yana’s attitude toward her had begun to soften.
After all, they had raised her for so many years. If she could truly turn on a new leaf, they would give her another chance.
Freya nodded with a practiced smile.
She shifted her gaze to Skylar and smirked, “Skylar, why have you been staring at my acceptance letter?”
“Just curious,” she replied. She had to drop out of college halfway because of the Stone family. After she married Yosef, she focused on being a good wife and never went back to school.
Later, she was forced to take the fall for Elianna and never got the chance to go back to school.
Now in her mid–twenties, she still felt a twinge of regret whenever she thought about her unfinished college education.
Freya covered her mouth, faking sympathy. Her eyes were full of pretend pity. “Skylar, you must’ve had such a hard time. Did you never even get to go to school?”
Skylar thought for a moment. Dropping out halfway was pretty much the same as never going at all. She nodded slightly. “Actually, I never got much schooling.”
Yana’s heart ached for Skylar, but she bit back her words, afraid that saying anything might bring back painful memories and upset Skylar. After a moment’s thought, she remained silent.
Carlos’s heart burned with indignation and self–reproach. If only he hadn’t failed to protect Skylar back then, she wouldn’t have had to endure so much hardship.
Victor felt a complex mix of emotions. No wonder/Skylar knew so much. She must have had to learn everything the hard way. Life before she came home must have been incredibly tough.
Freya scoffed inwardly, ‘She’d end up in jail and get into fights. It turned out she never even went to school. What a barbarian.‘
Freya put on a show, acting like a caring big sister as she took Skylar’s hand. “Skylar, I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize you never… But don’t worry. I’ll take you to visit the campus tomorrow.

Chapter 88
“If you like my university so much, you could always try applying to Quante University”
Freya was saying sorry, but her eyes were dripping with sarcasm..
Skylar thought with a smirk, ‘How does she keep up this two–faced act?‘
Skylar didn’t expose her either. Instead, with perfect compliance, she played along
Freya’s smile froze for a split second.
She thought, ‘I was just being polite. How could Skylar actually accept it?
with Freya’s act and replied, “Sure, thanks, Freya
‘There’s no way I’m bringing someone who never even went to college to set foot in a prestigious institution like Quante University.
‘If people find out Skylar never went to school and she’s my sister, I’ll be the laughingstock
of Quante University.
