Chapter 84
Victor’s gaze landed on Adam.
The last time Victor came home, he barely noticed the kid who’d suddenly appeared out of nowhere in the house.
Now that his parents were getting older, they loved having kids around and always brought the neighbor’s kids over. He was used to it
His parents would even pester them to get married, set them up on blind dates, and pressure them to have kids as soon as possible.
Victor just figured it was the neighbor’s kid that his parents had brought over.
Now it seemed that it was not what he thought.
Adam met Victor’s probing gaze and called out cheerfully, “Uncle Victor.”
Victor couldn’t believe his ears. “What did you just call me?”
Adam hesitated a little at his reaction, but still called out clearly, “Uncle.”
Victor thought, ‘If this kid is calling me uncle, he must be either Freya’s or Skylar’s.
‘Mom and Dad dote on Freya, but they’re pretty strict with her in certain areas. It’s probably not her kid. So, it’s Skylar’s?
‘We couldn’t dig up much about Skylar’s past. We don’t know what she’s been through or where this kid even came from.‘
Victor’s gaze grew complicated, his mind a whirlwind of confusion.
His face involuntarily scrunched up.
Yana knew him best. She laughed and said, “Don’t jump to conclusions, Victor. He’s Skylar’s friend’s kid. Her friend just asked her to treat him.
“Adam is so well–behaved and adorable. He puts you guys to shame. I wish he were part of our family.”
Victor let out a sigh of relief, thinking, ‘Thank God it’s not true. If it were, I might not be able to stop myself from going after that bastard who stole our girl.‘
Yana smiled warmly, “You must be exhausted after such a long flight. Have a seat and rest.”
She affectionately pulled Skylar down onto the sofa beside her, while Adam squeezed in on Skylar’s other side.
Carlos sat with Victor.
“Mom, where’s Freya?” Victor scanned the room but didn’t see Freya. “I need to talk to her about something.”
Yana said, “Freya’s been swamped with work these days. She’s out the door at dawn and doesn’t get back till late.”
Victor just nodded.
Since Freya was not here, he would wait till she got back tonight to have a serious talk with her.
After chatting with Skylar for a while, Yana suggested she and Victor go upstairs to rest.
Yana took Adam outside to play.
Skylar glanced at her phone. The online mob that had just been bashing Elianna had already found a new target.
The entire online mob shifted their focus to the scapegoat Elianna had set up, letting her dodge the cyberbullying.

Chapter 84
But this time, anyone with half a brain could see through her scheme, let alone those seasoned business sharks.
Numerous brands issued statements terminating their contracts with her and demanded compensation for damaging their brand reputation.
Elianna was summoned to the agency, where her agent tried to discuss damage control strategies with her.
“If I have to handle everything myself, what do I even need you for as my agent?” Elianna snapped.
Her agent, Mona Gibson, was left speechless. She opened her mouth and then closed it again.
Mona turned away to make the calls.
She called each brand partner one by one, desperately apologizing and trying everything to salvage the partnerships.
But all her efforts ended in failure.
Mona sighed, “Elianna, we’ve hit a wall with this. Maybe you should talk to Mr. Campbell and see if he can step in and handle it?”
Elianna shot Mona a scornful glare and snapped, “Can’t you even handle such a simple matter?”
Still dependent on Elianna, Mona seethed at the scolding but didn’t dare show it. She simply pressed her lips together and stayed silent.
Elianna didn’t want to tell Yosef about this.
He just got the last incident sorted out. If she bothered him again now, he’d definitely get annoyed.
Elianna grew even more furious at Mona. “What are you still standing here for? Trying to piss me off?”
Suppressing her anger, Mona turned and walked out of the office.
