Without so much as a flinch, Skylar pulled the bloodstained shirt back on.
Victor stood utterly dumbfounded, his jaw hanging open for a long while.
He’d always thought Skylar looked so frail. He never expected that she could actually take down a wild boar weighing over 110 pounds with her bare
hands.
Skylar walked over to Victor. “Victor, are you okay?”
Victor was about to speak when his gaze locked onto Skylar’s hand. Blood was streaming steadily from the wound.
The shirt was already soaked with blood. Victor’s composure shattered instantly. “Your hand…” he choked out, coughing violently as his voice failed him.
Clutching his chest, Victor frantically examined Skylar’s hand. The branch had snapped, sending splinters tearing into her tender skin and leaving her palm a bloody mess.
Despite the searing pain, Skylar didn’t make a sound as she used that very hand to pummel the wild boar into submission.
Guilt overwhelmed Victor as he choked out, “I’m so sorry, Skylar. I failed to protect you.”
Skylar said urgently, “Let’s not talk about this. We need to get out of here now. Someone must have planted something on me that’s attracting wild
boars.”
Victor’s face darkened. “Do you know who did this to you?”
“Yeah, I know. Can you get up?” Skylar asked.
He tried to stand up, but the spot where he’d been kicked hurt so badly that any movement made the pain flare up.
Victor pressed his lips together. “I can’t move. Go. Get help and come back for me.”
“You can’t move. If I leave you here, you’re dead.” Skylar reached out. “I’ll carry you.”
Victor eyed her slender frame doubtfully. “I’m way too heavy for you,to carry.”
Celebrities strictly controlled their weight. Even at his thinnest, Victor still weighed over 110 pounds.
He looked at Skylar. She couldn’t weigh more than 90 pounds. It was impossible for her to carry him.
Without wasting words, Skylar grabbed his arm. With practiced leverage, she hauled him up, draped his arm over her shoulder, and crouched down slightly. “Just go along with me.”
Still stunned, Victor slumped onto her back. In one swift motion, Skylar stood up and carried him with surprising ease.
Victor’s mind was reeling. All his thoughts condensed into one exclamation, “Skylar, you’re so strong.”
“Not bad,” Skylar replied. Back in prison, Louis had arranged for a martial arts teacher to train her so she wouldn’t get bullied by
Inmates.
The martial arts teacher was provoked by his rival and lost control in the heat of the moment, injuring the man. He was charged with assault and landed in prison.
Jnder his martial arts guidance, she trained every day, practicing her strength with 15–pound sandbags hanging from her hands.
At first, she couldn’t even hold her stance. Her arms would give out instantly. During those days, her body was covered in bruises and cuts, every inch of her aching relentlessly.

Determined not to be bullied, she gritted her teeth and pushed through the pain.
Gradually, she could maintain a steady stance and lift the sandbags with ease. Seeing her progress, her teacher began increasing her training intensity, heavier weights, and longer sessions each time.
If not for that wild boar’s thick hide, she would’ve killed it outright.
If she could send a wild boar flying with one punch, carrying a 110–pound guy was nothing for her.
Victor felt the pain where he’d been kicked growing more intense. He couldn’t hold back and hissed, “It hurts…”
Skylar carefully lowered Victor to the ground, checked his body temperature, and then gently wiped the sweat from his brow with her bare hand, showing not a trace of hesitation.
“Wait here for a second,” she said. “I’ll go find some herbs for you.”
She returned shortly with a few herbs, instructing Victor, “Chew these up and swallow them.” Without hesitation, she stuffed some into her own mouth, chewed them to a pulp, and pressed the mash onto her injured hand.
Victor was visibly recovering. He looked at Skylar in surprise and asked, “Skylar, you know medicine too?”
Skylar said, “Just a little. Get on my back. We need to keep moving.”
Having witnessed her incredible strength, Victor didn’t hesitate
and climbed onto her back. “I’m sorry, Skylar.”
Skylar responded softly, “Why are you apologizing?”
Victor said, “Back then, I listened to Freya and treated you so badly. That first time we met, I was downright cold to you…”
Skylar chuckled, “It’s okay. I don’t blame you.”
The more Skylar tried to brush it off, the heavier the guilt weighed on Victor.
