She was the only rightful heiress of the Lambert family. No one else could claim that title.
After Skylar got acquainted with the other guests, the director had them collect their assignment cards.
Each task card was worth a different number of points. The more tasks they completed, the more points they earned and the more rewards they could redeem.
The production team allowed contestants to pick as many tasks as they wanted, as long as they could get them all done.
There was another way to earn points by selling the items they collected. They needed three dollars to redeem one point.
In rural areas like this, it was impossible to make a fortune by seiling goods. Since they were not professionals, they’d be lucky to dollars a day. So honestly, it was much more cost–effective to just do a few more tasks for points.
Victor left the decision to Skylar.

Keeping them all in one area saved them from running around everywhere.
There was a lot of valuable stuff in the mountains. She planned to use some for her tasks and sell the rest for extra points.
Victor glanced at Skylar and asked, “Skylar, the mountains are crawling with bugs. We might even run into wild boars. You’re not scared, are you?”
Skylar shook her head. “Not at all. You scared, Victor?”
Victor said, “Me? Not a chance.”
Walking together, they drew attention everywhere they went.
Standing nearby, Elianna grew pensive after hearing Victor’s words. After a long moment, a faint, almost sly smile curved her lips, and a dark glint flashed in her eyes.
She thought, ‘What a perfect opportunity. The mountains are so dangerous. If anything happened to Skylar out there, no one could blame me.
When it was her turn, Elianna followed suit and also chose two mountain tasks.
Elianna shot a glance at her clueless companion. ‘Dragging Sabrina along will just slow me down, I need to find a way to shake her off,‘ she thought. Elianna put on her sweetest smile and suggested, “Sabrina, let’s take on more tasks. I’ll handle the mountain assignments while you take care of the field work. We’ll split up to cover more ground.”
Sabrina nodded.
Having agreed on a plan with Sabrina, Elianna set off immediately.
Elianna couldn’t risk losing sight of Skylar. If that happened, her whole scheme would fall apart.
She hurried to catch up and finally closed the gap. Not wanting to seem obvious, she pretended it was a coincidence and followed at a safe distance, close enough to see them, but far enough to avoid suspicion.
