Chapter 63
Just as he went down, he overheard someone badmouthing Skylar.
Adam glared and shouted, “You’re lying. Mommy would never do that.”
“You’re right, Adam. This has nothing to do with your mom. It’s all my fault,” Freya said with feigned humility, playing the victim to gain sympathy
Freya kept insisting it was all her fault, just to make herself look vulnerable and win their sympathy.
Victor had already heard from Freya about this newly returned sister.
He’d never liked troublemakers, and now he disliked her even more.
‘How could she be so intolerant over a minor conflict, and even go so far as to make Freya lose on purpose in a competition? She’s utterly so mean, Victor thought.
Carlos and Yana weren’t buying it. They just exchanged a look, saying nothing.
Yana gently pulled Adam into her arms. “Don’t get so worked up. What if you have an episode?”
She softly smoothed his hair and added, “If Skylar comes home and sees you like this, she’ll be heartbroken. Just relax.”
Yana’s words instantly calmed the fuming Adam, stopping him from lashing out further.
He nestled quietly in her arms.
The moment Skylar set foot inside, she sensed the tense atmosphere at home. She walked up to them, casting a glance at the unfamiliar face.
She called out, “Adam.”
Adam burst out of Yana’s embrace and threw himself at Skylar. “Mommy, she’s badmouthing you…”
Adam then clearly repeated what had just happened.
Freya said with feigned remorse, tears welling in her eyes, “Skylar, I know it’s all my fault. I’m so sorry.”
Victor shot up and firmly pulled Freya behind him. “You don’t need to apologize to her,” he said coldly.
Skylar looked at Victor and cautiously asked, “Who is this…”
Victor asked coldly, “Didn’t Mom and Dad tell you about me?”
Skylar turned to Carlos and Yana,
Carlos cleared his throat. “Alright, we’re all family here. Let’s sit down and talk this through.”
Skylar held Adam and sat to one side, directly facing Victor and Freya.
Carlos chuckled, “Skylar, this is your second brother, Victor. He’s an actor. When you came back, he was filming and couldn’t be here, but as soon wrapped up, he came straight to see you.
“Victor, this is your sister, Skylar. Be a little nicer to her, will you? That icy attitude of yours might just scare her.”
Victor scoffed, “I’ve always been this way. If Freya isn’t scared of me, why should she be?”
Skylar arched an eyebrow with amused interest. “Victor is not a monster. What’s there to be afraid of?”

Carlos gave an awkward chuckle. “That’s right. So, Skylar, were you a jordge today? You never mentioned it to us before”
*I didn’t mention it because I was afraid someone might exploit my relationship with Freya and accuse her of pulling strings Ewas achael, SHE for her,” Skylar said honestly.
Carlos nodded. “True enough. That kind of thing does happen.”
“Then why did you abuse your position to go after her?” Victor demanded coldly. Having spent

Skylar confronted Freya, “Freya, did you tell Mom and Dad I was targeting you?”
Freya blurted out, “No. I didn’t say that.”

“Her design is just a mishmash of stolen ideas, total plagiarism. Even if I hadn’t caught it, other contestants would’ve called her out online. And some of the people she copied from are actually competing today. Was I not allowed to speak up?” Skylar locked eyes with Victor.
“I swear I’ve never abused my position. But can Freya swear she hasn’t been spreading malicious lies?”
“I know you didn’t do it on purpose. It’s just that I wasn’t good enough. It’s all my fault,” Freya broke into theatrical sobs.
