As soon as the charges went through, Blake would be notified. So Freya proactively texted him first, explaining how the money was spent
Blake didn’t suspect a thing but asked if she had enough money to spend. He simply transferred another 3 million dollars to her account.
Freya felt a surge of relief.
She thought, ‘Thank goodness my brothers haven’t sided with Skylar yet. But once they’re back, who knows what tricks she’ll use to charm them away
from me?
‘There’s no way I’m letting Skylar get what she wants. Before my brothers get back from work, I have to get rid of her, once and for all
A heavy tension hung in the air at home.
The moment Freya stepped through the door, she knew something was off.
Freya obediently walked up to Carlos and Yana, her voice choked as tears instantly welled up in her eyes. “Dad, Mom, I’m so sorry. I messed everything
- up.
“I should’ve been more careful reviewing the designs. If I’d just paid a bit more attention, none of this would have happened.”.
Carlos gently reassured her, “It’s not your fault. You didn’t plagiarize, and you’ve handled things really well.”
Freya looked timidly at Yana, her voice wavering. “Mom…”
“Freya,” Yana said, “the company is yours now. Do whatever you think is best. I won’t blame you even if it fails. Just one rule. Never drag the company’s name through the mud.”
Freya nodded earnestly. “It won’t happen again, Mom. I promise.”
After a whole day of constant worry, Yana finally let herself relax, only to be completely overwhelmed by exhaustion.
Freya walked behind her and began massaging her shoulders.
Yana sighed, “You’ve had a long day too. Go get some rest.”
Freya nodded. “It’s okay, Mom.”
Skylar walked in from outside, carrying Adam in her arms. “Hey, Mom, Dad,” she called as she headed upstairs when her eyes inadvertently met Freya’s.
Skylar smirked contemptuously.
Freya lost control and dug her fingers in too hard.
Yana winced.
“Sorry,” Freya blurted out in a panic.
After this incident, Freya was swamped with damage control for days, leaving her no time to hassle Skylar.
Skylar finally got to relish a few undisturbed days.
After finally putting the plagiarism scandal behind her, Freya received an official invitation to compete in the International Jewelry Design Competition
The competition consisted of three progressive stages: regional, national, and international. Only those who triumphed in all three rounds would claim ultimate victory

Not only would this give her the chance to connect with top designers, but it could also help her shake off the plagiarism stigma and wow everyone with her real talent.
Freya was instantly tempted. Without a second thought, she signed up for the competition.
She lingered on the registration page, lost in thought. A slow, sinister smile crept across her lips.
Freya sneered, “Don’t disappoint me, Skylar.”
Skylar and Freya ran into each other in the hallway at home: Freya gave her a saccharine smile. “Skylar, no need to thank me.”
“What are you talking about?” Skylar asked in confusion.
Freya said with a fake smile, “Didn’t you say you knew a thing or two about design? Well, I went ahead and signed you up for the International Jewelry Design Competition.
“A competition like this would never invite some no–name designer like you. You wouldn’t even qualify to apply.
“Anyway, since I was personally invited to sign up, I just went ahead and signed you up too. Now we can go together.
“I can’t wait to see for myself just how talented you really are on the competition stage, since you’re apparently ‘qualified‘ to advise CG Gems’s designers.”
Skylar recalled tossing the invitation aside as soon as she got it, a wry smile playing at the corner of her lips.
She shot Freya a strange look and said dryly, “Well, thank you so much for signing me up.”
“Don’t mention it.” Freya flashed a fake smile. “Skylar, I really hope you show me what you’ve got in the competition. I can’t wait to see you perform on the international stage.”
Skylar gave her a meaningful look. “Of course, you’ll see me.”
