Chapter 32
“If you like it, I’ll mix the same perfume for you sometime,” replied Skylar.
Stars lit up in Sophie’s eyes. “Really? Thank you, Ms. Lambert!”
Skylar smiled. “You’re welcome.”
Not long after Daniel left, Campbell Group called to schedule a meeting with Skylar.
After checking the schedule and confirming nothing important was lined up for the afternoon, she set the meeting for then.
In the afternoon, she brought Sophie to Campbell Group. Thanks to their appointment, they were escorted smoothly to the top floor–where the CEO’s office was.
Their host was very polite, offering them coffee and asking if the room temperature was comfortable. Seeing they wore skirts, he even asked if they needed blankets.
Sophie asked for two and happily covered herself. “Big companies really are something else, Ms. Lambert.”
Skylar hummed in response and glanced around the room.
Back when she was Mrs. Campbell, she had never once been to the company. Even if she tried, she’d be stopped outside and treated like a gold–digger
after Yosef. People weren’t this polite back then.
She had felt so wronged. She’d run home to complain to Yosef, hoping he’d stand up for her. But instead, he scolded her and told her not to wander
around.
She’d tried herself silly, hiding somewhere with swollen eyes. Thinking of her naïve self from back then, Skylar wished she could go back and slap herself
awake.
“Mr. Campbell is still in a meeting–it should end in about twenty minutes, He’ll be with you as soon as he can,” the assistant of Campbell Group
reminded them.
Skylar nodded. Twenty minutes–she could wait.
She chatted with Sophie while they waited.
Sophie had had too much coffee and went to the bathroom, leaving Skylar scrolling on her phone alone.
“Skylar, you really have no shame!” A voice suddenly break in.
She looked up and met Elianna’s furious gaze.
Elianna stormed over. “What are you doing here?”
“Is there a law that says I can’t be here?” Skylar replied.
Elianna stared at her. “What right do you have? Who do you
think you are?”
Skylar smirked and fired back, “What about you? Why are you here? Who do you think you are?”
“I’m Yosef’s fiancée–soon to be the lady of Campbell Group, of course I can be here.” Elianna lifted her chin, pride oozing from her voice.
“And mistresses are this bold now, huh?” Skylar grinned.
“You’re the one who came between me and Yosef!” Elianna yelled.

Chapter 32
“Funny, the name on his marriage certificate isn’t yours–it’s mine.” Skylar chuckled. “If you’re so eager, why not whisper sweet nothings in his ear and get him to divorce me faster? That way, you won’t have to keep sneaking around behind my back like some homewrecker
Every word hit Elianna like a dagger. She was so furious she nearly spat blood. “Shut up, Skylar!”
Skylar’s voice was full of defiance. “If you can do it, don’t be afraid to be called out.”
“Skylar!” Elianna roared.
“Go ahead–raise your voice,” Skylar said. “Call everyone over. Let them all see what kind of person you really are.”
Elianna trembled with rage, teeth clenched, eyes burning with hatred. If she could, she’d kill Skylar on the spot.
Skylar remained composed, casually sipping her coffee.
That only made Elianna angrier. She grabbed another glass of water and flung it at her.
Skylar dodged in time, but part of her clothing still got soaked.
Without hesitation, she grabbed the coffee pot on the table, seized Elianna, and poured the hot coffee over her head.
The coffee was still steaming, and Elianna screamed in pain. Her whole body turned red, steam rising from her like a boiled shrimp.
