Chapter 307
Dominic Yearwood was already waiting there with another newly signed artist. The moment Dominic spotted Jamar, he marched over and gave lava sharp smack on the back of the head in reprimand.
“I’ve told you before not to wander around the office or disrupt people while they’re working, yet here you are barging into Ms. Lambert’s office without permission,” Dominic chided.
Jamar gritted his teeth, a flicker of anger flashing in his eyes.
‘Seriously? Dominic’s just a junior agent, and he thinks he can talk down to me? Once I make it big, he’ll be the first to go, he thought angrily.
Jamar kept his head bowed, playing the victim and saying nothing.
Skylar said, “That’s enough.”
Dominic smiled apologetically. “Ms. Lambert, I apologize for not keeping him in line. Sorry for the trouble.”
“If you want to discipline someone, do it privately. We have real work to discuss, so don’t waste my time,” Skylar said.
“You’re absolutely right, Ms. Lambert,” Dominic said.
Skylar sat down with Domnic to discuss the career development plans for their two newly signed artists.
“Jamar is suited to be an actor. As for Zack Larson, I think he has potential as a musician,” Dominic said.
Though Dominic may come across as a bit goofy and unreliable, he was actually industry–renowned for his professional expertise.
He had a sharp eye for talent.

However, Zack remained undeterred, his voice brimming with conviction. “I want to act. No matter how hard or exhausting it gets, I won’t give up.”
Dominic and Skylar exchanged a glance.
Skylar asked, “Are you sure?”
“Absolutely,” Zack said, his voice unwavering.
“Okay, then we’ll support your choice,” Skylar said before turning to Dominic. “Dominic, the company will provide all available resources–the rest is up to you,” she said.
Dominic patted his chest and said, “You can count on me, Ms. Lambert. I won’t let you down.”
“That’s it for today. Listen to Dominic, learn whatever you can, and next time I see you, expect some surprises,” Skylar said.
In unison, Jamar and Zack replied loudly, “Yes, Ms. Lambert!”
Skylar left the meeting room and headed back to her office.

When she saw the person in the room, her eyes lit up, and she exclaimed, “Victor! What brings you here?”

Skylar laughed and waved dismissively. “No, I do not.”
“Come on, let me take you out for a meal,” Victor said.
He slung an arm around Skylar, guiding her out like it was the most natural thing in the world. Skylar did not resist.
Arm in arm, chatting and laughing, the two looked just like a young couple.
Jamar approached with a smile. “Ms. Lambert-”
As soon as Victor noticed Jamar approaching, his guard went up. “Who the hell are you? Back off!” he yelled.
Skylar patted Victor’s hand, signaling him to relax.
Skylar asked, “Did you need something, Jamar?”
Jamar forced a smile. “No, nothing.”
Skylar gave him a polite nod. “I’m headed to lunch. Let’s catch up another time,” she said, then took Victor by the arm and led him away.
Jamar’s teeth clenched as the realization hit. ‘That was Caden Yates!‘ he thought.
‘Seriously? Ms. Lambert and Caden? So Caden’s mysterious backer is Ms. Lambert! No wonder she turned me down. It’s because she already has Caden. With someone like Caden around, how could a nobody like me ever catch Ms. Lambert’s eye?
‘All that talk about rejecting backdoor deals? It’s not about principle–it’s just because she’s not into me. In her heart, I’ll never compare to Caden. But why? What makes him so special? Damn it, this is so unfair,‘ Jamar fumed inwardly.
