Chapter 241
The person in charge was overjoyed. Not only did Sue possess exceptional medical expertise, but she could also provide the Medical Association with medicinal pills capable of treating rare diseases. To the Pharmaceutical Association, she was truly their biggest asset.
He couldn’t wait to spread the word. To everyone’s surprise, even top medical experts, who had initially dismissed it as a waste of time, ended up agreeing to attend after learning Sue would be there.
Word quickly spread among the elite medical families, upon hearing that Sue would attend, they all rushed to confirm. their participation.
Not only does Sue supply the Medical Association with medicines annually, but she also provides these elite medical families with specially processed medicinal herbs.
The specially prepared herbs were far more effective than the untreated ones.
They were eager to meet this legendary medical genius, not just out of admiration, but to forge connections and win her over to their own factions.
After making sure everything at work was wrapped up, Skylar finally made time to attend the medical symposium.
Skylar deliberately put on a mask, not only to hide her identity, but also to avoid any unnecessary trouble.
Skylar was dressed in plain, inconspicuous clothes, trying to stay under the radar, yet someone still came to pick a fight
with her.
Skylar was handing her invitation to the guard when a girl walked up beside her, gave her a disdainful once–over, and sneered, “Since when do they let anyone into the medical conference?”
“Who comes to an academic conference dressed like that? And that mask, what kind of cheap theatrics is this?”
She forcefully pushed Skylar aside, cut in front of her, and thrust her invitation at the guard. “Check mine first,” she snapped.
With a look of utter disdain, she pulled out a sanitizing wipe and vigorously scrubbed the hand that had just touched Skylar, as if trying to wipe away something filthy.
She sneered at Skylar and said, “Disgusting! Look at those rags. God knows how many germs are on them.”
Skylar caught the malice in her words, shot her a sidelong glance, and drawled, “Should’ve checked before heading out today. What rotten luck to run into someone with such a foul mouth.”
“Who are you calling foul–mouthed?” Aimee Castillo snapped, her face flushing with anger. “Apologize to me right this instant, or you’ll regret it!”
Skylar scoffed, “So being a young miss gives you the right to insult people? Is this what passes for manners in your noble
household?”
Aimee glared at her furiously. “Who told you to show up in those ratty clothes and block my way? What’s wrong with me

saying a few words to you?”
“Really? Does the law say I can’t dress this way?”
Aimee’s mind blanked for a second. “What do you mean? Of course, there’s no law against it,” she snapped.
Skylar shot back, “Since there’s no law against it, who are you to judge me? Or do you think you’re above the law?”
Aimee’s mind short–circuited at the logic. Waving her hand dismissively, she snapped, “Just shut up! I am in a bad mood right now, so hurry up and apologize to me, right this second!”
Skylar didn’t even bother to acknowledge her. Rolling her eyes behind the mask, she flashed her invitation to the guard and strode straight into the hall without giving her another glance.
Furious at being ignored, Aimee lifted her lavish skirt and stormed after Skylar into the hall.
“You stop right there!” Aimee snapped.
Skylar ignored her, slipping into the crowd to avoid being pestered.
Once inside the conference hall, Aimee completely lost sight of Skylar. She began weaving through the crowd, scanning every corner in a determined attempt to track her down.
Unfortunately, her heavy dress, paired with those four–inch heels, left her feet aching before she’d even made it halfway through the hall.
Giving up on finding Skylar, Aimee muttered angrily under her breath, “Damn it! Just wait till I find you, you’re going to regret it.”
“Who’s got you all worked up this time?” Aimee turned around softly and threw herself into her brother’s arms, pouting. “Brother, you have no idea how badly I was just bullied.”
