Chapter 238
The servant glanced hesitantly between Carlos and Yana.
After a long pause, Carlos finally spoke with authority. “If we’re going to investigate, we’ll leave no stone unturned. Search her room.”
Only after receiving Carlos’s order did the servants dare to go upstairs and search Freya’s room.
Freya remained perfectly composed. ‘They’ll never find the bank card, it’s right here with me,‘ she thought confidently.
Freya glared daggers at Skylar.
Just wait, she’ll have to apologize to me,‘ she thought venomously.
Just then, Sophie returned with someone else.
“Ms. Lambert, we found her,” she reported.
As soon as she spotted Freya, the woman threw herself forward in desperation, dropping to her knees and clutching Freya’s legs.
She waited, “Ms. Lambert, save me! Please, save me! You promised this wouldn’t involve me, that you’d keep me safe. I don’t want to go to jail, Ms. Lambert. I’m begging you, please help me!”
Tears streamed down her face as she sobbed, repeating her desperate pleas for Freya to save her.
Carlos’s voice turned icy. “What the hell is going on here?”
Skylar explained softly, “Dad, she’s the owner of that bank account.
“She used to work for the Lambert family, but suddenly a large sum of money was deposited into her account, and she quit her job.
“When I tracked her using that card at the department store, I sent Sophie to bring her back.”
Before bringing her back, Skylar had already gathered every piece of evidence.
‘This time, whether it’s to finally live in peace without Freya’s constant scheming, or to seek justice for Brada, I won’t let Freya off easily,‘ Skylar thought
firmly.
Freya felt the blood drain from her face.
Freya thought, ‘I was so careful, how did Skylar find out?
‘Who could be helping her? Who the hell is siding with that bitch against me?
‘My only way out now is to stand my ground and never admit to anything.”
Freya roughly shoved away the person clinging to her and snapped, “I have no idea why you’re framing me like this! Who the hell sent you?”
The woman froze in shock, stammering, “Ms. Lambert… that’s not what you told me before!”
Skylar leisurely motioned for Sophie to present another piece of evidence. “Sis, I’ve got your bank statement right here.”
She looked at Freya and said calmly, “You thought you covered your tracks, but walls have ears.”
Freya’s face went deathly pale as she stared at the bank statement. “Why…” she whispered, her voice trembling with despair.
Skylar glared at Freya. “You went to any lengths to frame me, even attempted murder of innocent people. Freya, you’ve crossed the line!”

Carlos was utterly disappointed. He slapped Freya across the face. “You’ve disappointed me beyond words!” he shouted.
Freya had always seemed so obedient and well–behaved. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine that behind her angelic face lurked such an ugly
demon.
Carlos thought bitterly, ‘I’ve always treated Freya and Skylar equally, never once played favorites.
‘Where did I go wrong? What made Freya develop such malicious intentions?
‘She wasn’t supposed to be like this.
‘What happened to that sweet, obedient girl I once knew?‘
The greater Carlos’s hopes for Freya had been, the deeper his disappointment now ran.
He sighed heavily, closed his eyes, and refused to look at her. “Starting today, you’ll take a leave of absence and be sent overseas. You may return only when you’ve truly reflected on your actions.”
Sending her abroad was exile in disguise.
Once overseas, all her hopes would be dashed.
No one would know when, or if, she’d ever be allowed to come back. Even if she wanted to, Skylar might never let her make a proper comeback.
Freya thought desperately, ‘They can’t send me away, not now, not ever!‘
Freya shook her head violently, fat tears rolling down her cheeks. “I won’t go, Dad! I’m innocent, it’s Skylar! She just wants me gone, she can’t stand having me here.”
“Dad, please…” she sobbed, clutching at his sleeve. “Don’t send me away. Please… don’t…”
