Chapter 226
The eavesdropper went up the mountain with another girl to seek love fortune. When she didn’t draw the best fortune slip, she felt a little down. But she would’ve never thought she’d witness such a heartwarming scene. Her disappointment vanished in an instant, replaced by excitement.
The two girls started chattering excitedly, completely oblivious to their surroundings.
The girl in the beige dress was practically swooning, hearts in her eyes. “Oh my god, that guy giving someone a piggyback is drop–dead gorgeous! His legs are so long, they could practically reach my neck. Why can’t a tall, dreamy guy like that be mine?”
“This is so shippable! Isn’t this the ultimate alpha boyfriend and his delicate omega who can’t even take care of himself?” The companion next to the girl in the beige dress had eyes sparkling with excitement.
Yosef and Brada’s faces twisted in disgust, as if they’d just swallowed something vile.
Yosef was itching to just drop Brada right now, but he worried Brada would use the chance to cling to Skylar. Gritting his teeth, he forced himself to hold back.
The girl next to the one in the beige dress, completely oblivious to Yosef and Brada’s visible discomfort, rushed over and addressed them directly.
With her phone in hand, she beamed with excitement. “Hi there! I’m a photographer. Would you mind if I took a photo to help you capture this beautiful
moment?
“May you two stay strong against all odds and be together forever!”
Yosef’s brows furrowed deeply at her words. He abruptly dumped Brada onto the ground.
Looking up with icy detachment, Yosef said, “Sorry to disappoint, but we’re not what you think.”
The girl thought, ‘Oh no! I totally messed up. I misunderstood everything!‘
She was so embarrassed.

Mortified, she blurted out an apology, then dashed back to her friend and dragged her away from the scene at lightning speed.
Skylar was startled when two figures suddenly darted out from behind her. She spun around to see who it was.
Yosef and Brada were lagging far behind her. Oddly enough, the person who should have been on Yosef’s back was now sitting on the ground, looking up at her with puppy–dog eyes.
Pointing at Yosef, who stood aside with an icy expression, looking at him like he was trash, Brada dramatically accused Skylar, “Skylar, he tried to murder me on purpose!”
Skylar walked back and asked, “What happened?”
Skylar wondered, ‘Did they get into a fight while I wasn’t looking?”
She gave Brada and Yosef a quick once–over. Finding, no signs of a scuffle on either of them, she composed herself and averted her gaze, betraying nothing.
“Skylar, I have no idea what got into him just now he deliberately dumped me on the ground! I could’ve broken my neck. Brada sat on the floor while ranting.
Brada looked at Skylar with a pitiful expression and said, “Skylar, I think he’s just jealous of how close we are, so he’s trying to get rid of me.
“Skylar, I don’t want him carrying me anymore. I’m really scared he’ll toss me right down these steep steps any minute now.”
Faced with Brada’s litany of accusations, Yosef said coldly, “Spare me the drama.”

Brada sprang up, snapping, “Then what do you want?”
Seeing the two about to bicker again, Skylar stepped in to stop Brada, hoping to spare her ears. “Enough! Cut it out. If you keep this up, we won’t pa
down before dark.”
Brada pouted, “It’s not like I want to argue. He’s just picking
on me and ruining my day!”
The two of them were squabbling like kindergarteners, neither willing to b
down, honestly, their childishness was off the charts.
Skylar rubbed her temples in exasperation. “Enough! That’s the end of it.”
Brada obediently clamped his mouth shut, though his eyes still blazed with silent
t protest.
Yosef had no intention of arguing the whole time. He just stood there coldly, watching as Brada put on a pitiful act and played the victim to win Skylar’s sympathy.
Yosef felt physically repulsed by Brada’s cheap tactics.
Brada thought to himself, ‘His refusal works perfectly for me. If he won‘
carry me, I can use this as a pretext to get Skylar to help me walk.
‘This way, I can finally get some close physical contact with Skylar.
