Chapter 223
Yosef’s calm voice sounded from behind them. “Count me in.”
Brada turned at the vaguely familiar voice. “You? What are you doing here?”
Yosef replied with perfect composure, not a trace of unease in his expression. “Heard this place works miracles. Thought I’d check it out.”
Brada eyed him warily. “Why do you have to show up now, of all times?” He didn’t buy that flimsy coincidence excuse for a second. He knew that Yosel must have followed them.
Yosef deliberately positioned himself between Skylar and Brada, cutting them off from each other. “Just a coincidence,” he said casually.
“Seriously? You expect me to buy that?”
Brada thought to himself, ‘What kind of ridiculous coincidence is this?‘
Just like last time at Skylar’s place, he just happened to show up to “express his gratitude.”
Brada thought to himself, ‘Seriously? That same tired excuse again? So overused.‘
Brada kept grumbling inwardly, shooting Yosef a dark look. “Like we’d be heading the same way as you. What are the odds?”
Yosef arched an eyebrow. “There’s only one way up the mountain.”
He meant that they would have to take the same path whether Brada liked it or not.
Brada was fuming. The last thing he wanted was for Yosef to mess up his carefully laid plans. No way was he going to let that guy tag along.
He grabbed Skylar’s hand and pulled her up, panting heavily. “Let’s go ahead without him, Skylar.”
Yosef’s gaze fell on their intertwined hands, a dangerous glint flickered in his eyes.
Yosef thought to himself, ‘I swear, I’d love nothing more than to sever that disgusting hand of his right now!’
Yosef was just thinking about how to pry them apart when, to his surprise, Skylar suddenly started pulling her hand away on her own.
She said, “Brada, your grip is making me uncomfortable. Please let go, I can walk by myself.”
Brada immediately released her hand. “I’m so sorry, did I hurt you?”
“It doesn’t hurt, but it’s a bit uncomfortable,” Skylar said, rubbing her wrist.
Brada pressed his lips together, looking genuinely apologetic. “I’m sorry, I didn’t consider your feelings.”
Skylar just didn’t want physical contact with others, she didn’t mean to make him feel bad. She waved it off with a smile and said, “It’s okay, let’s get
moving.”
Brada stepped aside and said, “Go ahead, I’ll follow behind.”
Without saying a word, Skylar walked ahead of him.
Brada turned and shot Yosef a fierce glare, huffing loudly to voice his displeasure before breaking into a jog to catch up with Skylar.
Yosef followed at a leisurely pace, maintaining a discreet distance as the trio entered Wish Church one after another.
Brada purposefully led Skylar to the area for love fortunes.

Chapter 223
The priest, already won over by Brada’s courtship story, produced three pieces for fortune tellings. “You’ve come seeking romance fortaries, Lunet Here you go.”
The priest subtly gestured for Brada to take the one in the middle, Brada’s eyes lit up. He was just about to reach for it when Tosef, having detarted the i scheme, swiftly stepped in first.
Yosef went first, grabbing the piece and stepping into the prayer hall. He drew a piece with utter devotion.
Skylar randomly grabbed a container, gave a quick bow, and drew a stick, just going through the motions.
Brada pursed his lips in frustration, picked up the one left, and gave it a half–hearted shake.
The priest hadn’t anticipated this turn of events, but as fate would have it, Skylar still ended up with the prearranged container.
Perhaps this was fate at work, or maybe just a fortunate accident.
He closed his eyes and silently smiled.
The three brought their drawn fortune sticks to the priest to have their fortunes read.
The priest picked up Yosef’s and announced, “This is the best possible fortune, true love and happiness await you. With a little more effort, your relationship shall blossom and bear sweet fruit.”
Yosef’s lips curved in a faint, knowing smile. “My thanks, Father.”
Skylar handed over her fortune stick. “Father, would you please interpret this for me?”
“Miss, yours too is the highest fortune. Hold fast to your destined one, and cherish the person before your eyes.”
Skylar frowned, stealing a quick glance at Yosef.
Skylar thought to herself, ‘What does this mean? Cherish Yosef? No way!‘
