Chapter 216
As soon as Brada got home, he called his family right away, eager for their advice on what to wear for his big meeting with the Lambert family the next
day.
After settling on his outfit, Brada turned to his family and asked eagerly, “What gifts should I bring?”
His family suggested he bring a bottle of fine wine for Skylar’s father and some jewelry for her mother.
Then he turned to his international friends for advice.
They replied, “Back home, most guys enjoy a good drink, so premium liquor would make great gifts. Jewelry is always a safe choice, too.”
Taking both suggestions to heart, Brada asked his assistant to pick up the finest wine, premium coffee, and an exquisite jewelry set. He wanted everything to be perfect for tomorrow.
With his heart brimming with joy and just a hint of nervousness, Brada went to bed early, eagerly looking forward to the coming morning.
Early the next morning, Brada grabbed the gifts and had his assistant drive him to the address Skylar had provided.
Carlos and Yana had already been told by Skylar that her friend would be visiting today. They prepared refreshments in advance and sat together on the sofa while waiting.
Victor had wanted to stay home to see what his sister’s new friend was like, but an unavoidable work commitmentme up at the last minute.
Left with no choice, Victor could only instruct Adam to keep a close eye on things and message him immediately if anything unusual happened.
Skylar didn’t wait at home. She headed to the office first, planning to come back for lunch later.
As soon as Brada walked in, he started sweet–talking Carlos and Yana, leaving them both all smiles.
Carlos recalled Skylar mentioning that a male friend would be visiting. He thought to himself, ‘Better stay alert, no way I’m letting some random guy come sniffing around and steal my precious girl away.‘
But after meeting Brada in person, Carlos found his initial reservations softening a little.
Brada was witty and charming, incredibly respectful, and quite handsome. On top of that, his family ran a successful business and was very well–off.
Carlos was no longer resistant to Brada’s presence.
Carlos still couldn’t bring himself to accept the idea of his daughter dating Brada.
Travel was easier than ever these days, but Landish and his country were still oceans apart.
Carlos thought, ‘If my daughter really ends up with him, who knows how few times they’ll get to see each other in a year?‘
As that thought crossed Carlos’s mind, the warmth in his eyes faded, replaced by a cold, distant look.
Carlos replied to Brada with lukewarm politeness, making it clear he was just going through the motions.
Yana didn’t share her husband’s reservations. She simply thought it was wonderful that their daughter had made a new friend and even brought them home to meet the family.
It showed that Skylar had completely opened her heart to them.
Yana found herself liking Brada more and more the longer she looked at him. ‘He’s got such a good personality, and he seems genuinely kind, not the type to cozy up to Skylar just for money. really don’t have to worry about him hurting my girl,’ she thought, feeling completely at ease.

Chapter 216
Freya had been away for a few days. After much deliberation, she concluded it would be best to return to the Lambert residence.
Freya thought anxiously, ‘What if I stay away from home too long and Skylar uses this time to completely win over my adoptive parents‘ hearts? Where would that leave me in the Lambert family?
‘Would I even have any place left in my adoptive parents‘ hearts by then?‘
At this thought, Freya immediately packed her belongings and moved back home.
The moment Freya walked in, she heard her adoptive parents chatting merrily with a stranger.
Freya handed her luggage to the housekeeper and called out, “Mom, Dad, I’m home!”
As Freya approached the sofa, she finally got a good look at Brada’s face:
He had exotic features, chiseled and well–defined facial contours, and pale gray eyes that held an icy glint, further accentuating the sharpness of his
features.
But now, with a smile on his face, that icy edge softened, his pale gray eyes radiating warmth.
Freya’s heart pounded uncontrollably.
Freya’s intense stare made Brada uneasy. He frowned and looked down, avoiding her gaze.
