Chapter 209
Brada found himself stealing glances at her from time to time, and the more he looked, the more smitten he became. She was exactly his type. Her face was so dainty he could easily cup it in one hand, and her features were exquisitely delicate, with her brows and eyes especially striking.
The slight upward tilt at the corners of her eyes gave her an aloof yet captivating charm, even when she wasn’t smiling. From the very first moment he saw her, his heart started pounding uncontrollably. He’d never felt this way before. There was no doubt that he was falling for Skylar.
His mother always told him, “No matter what you do, always follow your heart.”
She would say, “Take action. Even if you might fail, at least you’ll have tried, and you won’t be left with regrets.”
He knew the moment he saw her that he’d fallen for this girl.
From now on, he was going to pursue her, no matter the outcome, at least he wouldn’t have any regrets.
With that, Brada made up his mind.
Brada tried to strike up a conversation with Skylar. “Ms. Lambert, are all the women in Landish as beautiful as you?”
Unbeknownst to her, Brada had already made a significant decision in that brief moment.
After a brief pause, Skylar replied, “Every woman has her own unique beauty. It’s not something I can sum up in just a few words.”
Brada’s eyes sparkled with admiration. “You’re absolutely right about that, Ms. Lambert.”
Skylar met his unexpectedly intense gaze, feeling a bit puzzled.
‘Something about him seems different, but I just can’t put my finger on it,‘ she thought.
Brada tensed up under Skylar’s gaze. ‘Stay calm,’ he told himself, forcing his body to remain composed.
He kept a straight face, deliberately avoiding her eyes so things wouldn’t get awkward.
Skylar only glanced at him for a moment before looking away.
He asked, “Ms. Lambert, would you happen to have time for a meal’with me?”
Unfortunately, his timing couldn’t have been worse. She already had another appointment.
Skylar apologized, “I’m afraid I already have plans. Perhaps another time.”
Brada wasn’t discouraged. “Sure, Ms. Lambert, why don’t we exchange contact details? That way we can stay in touch.”
Skylar agreed, and they exchanged numbers.
Brada held his phone, grinning from ear to ear. ‘This just made my day,’ he thought.
Skylar thought she wouldn’t see Brada again until their next negotiation, but to her surprise, she spotted him in the lobby reception area downstairs at the company the very next morning.
“Mr. Fleur, what brings you here so early?” Skylar asked, a hint of surprise in her voice.
Brada picked up a bouquet of flowers he’d set aside and presented them to her. “These are for you, Ms. Lambert.”
Skylar blinked in surprise. “Flowers? For me? What’s the occasion?”
Most importantly, these were roses, of all things.

Chapter 209
Roses usually were meant for romantic interest.
But Brada and she were not in that kind of relationship at all. Skylar really couldn’t fathom what he was trying to imply with this gesture.
Brada looked Skylar straight in the eye and said, “Ms. Lambert, I’m courting you.”
Skylar was taken aback, doubting her own ears. “You’re courting me?”
Brada nodded emphatically. “I like you, so I want to court you.”
“But we’ve only met once and barely know each other. Why would you say you like me and want to pursue me?” Skylar asked, her tone skeptical.
She wasn’t so full of herself as to believe someone would fall for her at first sight.
After all, there were plenty of beautiful women in the world.
Someone like Brada, who must have met countless attractive girls, should be immune to pretty faces by now.
Brada scratched his head a little awkwardly and said, “The moment I first saw you, I felt this incredible joy, something I’ve never experienced before. I’ve never dated anyone, but I know this feeling… it’s love.”
Skylar still couldn’t believe he’d fallen for her at first sight. ‘How could a cliché romance novel trope happen to me?‘ she thought.
She tried to talk sense into him. “You don’t really know me. Maybe what you’re feeling is just admiration, not real affection.”
