Skylar didn’t want to say anything about Freya without evidence.
She just smiled at her mother and said, “It’s nothing, Mom. Don’t worry.”

Skylar took her mother’s hand and gently patted it. “Mom, you’ll find out soon enough,” she said softly.
Since Skylar had said so, Yana let it go.
The housekeeper went up to the third floor and knocked
on the
study door. “Mr. Lambert, Ms. Lambert, someone is asking for you.”
“Come in,” Carlos’s voice responded from inside the study.
The housekeeper opened the door and said, “Mr. Lambert, Ms. Skylar asked if she could have Ms. Freya go?”

Freya descended the stairs and walked toward the sofa.
Freya smiled as she sat down. “Skylar, what did you want to see me about?”

Skylar looked Freya straight in the eye and asked, “Did you give Bud my contact info?”
Freya’s heart skipped a beat.
She thought, ‘How did Skylar find out?
‘Could it be that Bud nessed things up?

“No, I didn’t,” Freya replied cautiously.

Freya clenched her teeth, her eyes darting nervously. Trying to sound casual, she asked, “Why are you asking this, Skylar?”
With a smirk, Skylar said, “Something interesting happened today. The main characters? Bud, me… and you, Freya.”
“Skylar, what are you talking about? I don’t understand a
word of it,” Freya said with feigned innocence, putting on her best clueless expression.
Skylar said calmly, “It’s fine if you don’t get it now. You will soon enough.”
Skylar went back to her room, grabbed her laptop, and started typing rapidly.
She turned her laptop toward Freya and asked, “Recognize this screen?”
She logged into Bud’s account, pulled up the chat history between “Skylar” and him, and turned the screen to Freya. “I’ve never had any of these conversations with Bud, not once,” she stated firmly.
She looked Freya straight in the eye and demanded, “Whose account is this?”
Freya nervously picked at her fingers, her voice defensive. “How would I know whose account this is?”
She thought, ‘Damn it! That idiot, Bud, what on earth did he do to let Skylar get hold of evidence? And he actually handed over their chat history to her!‘
“Don’t you know?” Skylar pressed.
Freya shook her head stubbornly. “I don’t know,” she insisted, refusing to admit anything.
“Since you claim not to know, I’ll just track down who owns this account myself.”
Skylar turned back to her laptop and immediately made a voice call.
A melodious ringtone abruptly sounded from Freya’s pocket.
