Chapter 194
Chapter 194
Freya’s cheeks flushed pink as she protested, “Guys, stop teasing me!
“You guys are all amazing! I’ll have to work even harder if I want to catch up with you.
“I’ll be counting on you to show me the ropes going forward.”
Tyne giggled behind her hand. “Don’t worry, Freya, just ask me
anything. I’ll tell you everything I know!”
Bud gave a gentle smile. “Freya, you can always come to me for anything,” he said, “No matter when, I’ll always be there for you.”
Tyne picked up on the subtle dynamics and teased, “Bud, aren’t you being a bit too nice to Freya?”
Bud explained, “She’s younger than us, so naturally we should take extra care of her.”
Tyne teased him, “There are other juniors too. Why don’t you ever say that to them?”
Freya lowered her head with feigned shyness, her lashes veiling the contempt in her eyes.
Freya sneered inwardly, ‘Who does this nobody think he is, daring to set his sights on me?
‘One day I’ll marry into a family as prestigious as the Lamberts. There’s no way I’d ever stoop to being with some penniless nobody with zero status.
Freya concealed her disgust with a practiced smile and said, “Tyne, Bud is just being kind. That’s why he looks out for me. Please don’t tease him about
it.”
Tyne took the hint and dropped the subject about the two of them.
Tyne’s eyes lit up with curiosity as she asked, “Freya, what’s your home like?
“I heard the Lambert family’s mansion is so lavish, it’s practically fit for royalty!”
Freya smiled faintly and said, “Oh, it’s nothing special. My parents prefer understated elegance, our home decor is far from being fit for royalty.”
“Hey Freya, can we come see your place?”
Freya’s brow furrowed momentarily.
Freya thought to herself, ‘I really don’t want to take these two idiots home. What if they blurt out something they shouldn’t?
‘If my actions get exposed again, my position in the Lambert family will only become even more
precarious.
Bud seemed to sense Freya’s discomfort and quickly came to her rescue. “It’s probably inconvenient for Freya to bring outsiders to the Lambert family. Stop putting her on the spot, okay?”
Tyne pouted in disappointment. “But that’s the Lambert family, what could possibly be inconvenient about visiting?
“Freya, I’m dying to see what the Lambert family mansion looks like! Please, please!”
Tyne gazed pleadingly at Freya, her eyes full of longing.
Freya’s vanity swelled with satisfaction. After a brief pause, she finally said, “Fine, but you must promise not to say anything inappropriate and follow my lead completely.
“Mom and Dad don’t like ill–mannered people, so I’ll have to ask you to mind your manners.”
Tyne eagerly promised, “Don’t worry, Freya! We swear we won’t say anything out of turn, we’ll follow your lead completely.

Chapter 194
On the way home, Freya sternly reminded them once again, “When we get there, watch what you say and let me do the talking
Both of them readily agreed.
Freya took out her phone and texted her parents, letting them know she’d be bringing friends home.
Carlos and Yana didn’t mind.
Carlos instructed the kitchen staff to prepare some refreshments and brew a pot of coffee in anticipation of Freya and her classmates‘ arrival.
As the car drove past row after row of luxurious mansions, Bud and Tyne pressed their faces to the window, their eyes wide with awe.
Never in their wildest dreams had they seen such magnificent houses.
The car finally pulled up in front of the Lambert family mansion.
Freya led the way. “This is my home,” she said, gesturing ahead. “Over there is the garden, and beside it is a pond…”
As they walked, Freya continued giving them a tour, pointing out different features of the Lambert mansion along the way.
Freya led the way as they stepped into the Lambert mansion, their eyes widening at the elegant interior.
Carlos and Yana received them.
Bud stayed composed enough, while Tyne looked visibly flustered.
Tyne nervously clutched the hem of her shirt. When Carlos reached out his hand, she gave a small, awkward bow and said, “Hello, Carlos.”
Carlos awkwardly withdrew his proffered hand. “Hello.”
Freya couldn’t hide her disgust as she tugged impatiently at the embarrassed Tyne. Through gritted teeth, she said, “There’s no need for such formalities. Just sit down.”
Tyne and Bud sat across from them, while Freya took her place beside Carlos and Yana.
