“Ma’am, where’d this formula come from?” Andrew, a researcher, asked, raising an eyebrow.
“A doctor friend shared it,” Skylar said, keeping it vague
Andrew’s jaw dropped. “This stuff’s way better than the competition. Why would your friend just give it away instead of making bank? That’s… odd.”
Skylar just smiled, sidestepping the question.
She knew it was a winner. She was already cashing in.
“There’s one hiccup,” Andrew said, scratching his head. “One of the herbs is hard to get. We’d need a special supplier. Can we swap it out?”
Skylar shook her head. “No way. Substitutes won’t work–it’ll mess with the results”
Andrew sighed, nodding. “My bad. I wasn’t thinking straight.”
Skylar’s face turned serious. “We can sort out sourcing problems. But we never take shortcuts. Bad drugs hurt people and kill the company.”

“I’ll get procurement on the herb sourcing.” Skylar said. “You stick to the lab.”
She passed the task off, and the procurement team jumped on it.
Soon, they found a company willing to sell in bulk, but their price was sky–high.

“We’ve tried everything,” the procurement lead said, frustrated. “Can we bump the budget a littler
Skylar leaned forward, hands clasped under her chin, her eyes sharp. “That ingredient isn’t worth their price. They’re holding firm because they think they can rip us off.”
“So, what’s the plan?” the lead asked.
Skylar’s lips curved slightly. “I’ll take care of it myself.”
