She said, “Since I helped Caden when he was at his lowest, that makes me his savior. Even if he’s ungrateful, I can still use this to hold it over him,

Joanne nudged Curtis. “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
“I was afraid you’d go soft on your pretty boy.”
Joanne smirked coldly. “I only care about whether I can have Caden. As for the means, I don’t give a damn.”
Curtis gave her a thumbs–up and said, “Damn, you’re ruthless.”
“Right back at you.”
Victor took Skylar and Adam to their regular restaurant. As soon as they entered, the owner immediately recognized them and had a staff member escort them to a private booth.
Victor held his nephew while ordering the dishes, then passed the menu to Skylar.
Skylar didn’t really have anything she wanted. She glanced through the menu and handed it back to Victor. “I think we’ve ordered enough, no need to get more,” she said.
Victor signaled to the waiter and handed back the menu. “That’ll be all. Please serve them quickly. Thank you.”
After the dishes arrived, they ate a bit more, lingered for a while to relax, then got back in the car and returned to the hotel.
On the way back to the hotel, Victor received a call from his agent.
As soon as Victor picked up, his agent practically screamed into the phone, “Caden! What the hell is wrong with you? How could you be so reckless as to do something like this?”
Victor winced at his booming voice and held the phone slightly away from his ear. “Ferris, what on earth are you talking about?”
Ferris Foster snapped at Victor, “Don’t play dumb with me! You know exactly what you’ve done!”
Ferris shot him several links. “See for yourself!”
Victor clicked open the links.
The links all featured Skylar as the female lead, with Victor, Yosef, and Curtis as the male leads.
The posts claimed that Skylar, though already married, was still sleeping around, and those three men weren’t even the only ones involved.
They were calling her a slut who slept around, even claiming her child wsn’t her husband’s but some bastard.
Victor exploded in rage, “Ferris, investigate who’s behind these posts, now!”
Ferris said, “I’m already on it. I’ve tried to reach them, but no one’s getting back to me.”
Victor’s face darkened. “Got it. First, do whatever it takes to suppress the trending topics. Contact the social taken down immediately.”
Ferris hesitated, “Wouldn’t that backfire?”
He thought, ‘Wouldn’t deleting things at this point just make us look guilty?‘

Ferris hesitated, then asked, “Caden, tell me honestly, are you and Skylar involved like that?”
Victor snapped, “What the hell are you thinking? There’s absolutely nothing between us. We’re completely innocent”
Victor thought angrily, ‘Is he out of his damn mind? With my own sister? That’s just sick!‘
Ferris let out a sigh of relief. “Good. Now I know what to do.”
He hung up and immediately got to work.
Ferris’s booming voice carried so clearly that Skylar unintentionally caught every word of their conversation.
Skylar skimmed through the trending rumors online.
Skylar thought to herself, ‘If my guess is right, it must be her.
‘But if Joanne is so obsessed with Victor, why would she drag him into this mess?‘
Skylar hesitated, but still told Victor, “Victor, I think this was Joanne’s doing.”
Victor thought angrily, “I know exactly what she’s doing. If she can’t have me,
she’ll do everything she can to destroy me.
“Or maybe she just wants to watch me suffer, then swoop in at my lowest point and play the savior, so I’ll feel indebted to her, let down my guard, and eventually fall for her.”
Skylar frowned deeply. “That’s not love, that’s straight–up obsession.”
Victor snarled through gritted teeth, “She’s a complete lunatic.”
“Don’t worry about this, Skylar. I will handle it.”
Skylar shook her head firmly. “Victor, I can’t leave you to face this alone.”
Victor was about to speak when his phone suddenly rang, cutting him off.
“Caden, you’ve already handled this? That was fast!” his agent’s bewildered voice came through the phone.
“Not me,” Victor said, baffled. “I haven’t done anything yet!” He was just about to take action, but hadn’t even made a move.
Ferris asked in confusion, “If not you, then who?”
