Chapter 168
Joanne stepped past Victor, her gaze icy and venomous as it landed on Skylar. “So, how far have you two gone?” she sneered. “Just kissed, or have you already slept together?”
Victor glared in disgust. “Enough, Joannel”
“Enough? How could I ever be satisfied?” Joanne shrieked hysterically. “No wonder you went whining to my father and had him ship me abroad, it was all for this woman!”
Joanne snarled, her voice shaking with fury, “Listen up, Caden, you’ll never be with that woman! You belong to me, only me!”
Victor clenched his fists, barely restraining the urge to strike her. In a low, steely voice, he said, “I’ll say this one more time, I don’t belong to you, and never will.”
Victor took Skylar’s hand and faced Joanna. “Since you’ve seen it for yourself, let me make this clear right now.
“This is the woman I love. I won’t tolerate anyone hurting her. If you lay a finger on her, you’ll regret it.
“Joanna, you’d better drop these delusions before this gets embarrassing for both of us.”
High–society families dreaded scandals above all else.
If Joanne insisted on meddling in someone else’s relationship and word got out, her reputation would be ruined.
The Green family might not be able to compare with the Lamberts, but they were still a family that valued their dignity.
Otherwise, they wouldn’t have sent their daughter abroad just because of what he said.
Victor thought to himself, ‘Now that I have a girlfriend, there’s no way Joanne will keep shamelessly pestering me every day. Even if she wanted to, her family would never allow it.‘
The onlookers watched the scene unfold, whispering to each other.
“Seriously? The couple was just sitting there having dinner, minding their own business. Then that woman barges in and starts hitting people. Is she crazy or what?” someone muttered.
“Who knows? If my daughter acted like that, so clingy and obsessive, I’d never let her get away with it,” another person chimed in.
“She’s honestly terrifying. Did you see her eyes? It was like she wanted to eat someone alive,” someone else whispered.
“Let’s call the waiter and have her thrown out,” another suggested.
Joanne tuned out the gossip around her. The only thing echoing in her mind was Victor’s words.
The light in her eyes died, replaced by swirling darkness. “Caden, you’re actually serious?”
“Absolutely.” Victor enunciated each word deliberately. “I couldn’t be more serious.”
Joanne’s resentment was now completely unconcealed as she glared daggers at them, a cold, mocking smile on her lips. “Fine, Caden. Just wonderful.
“How dare you reject me and sneak around with another woman behind my back! I swear, I won’t let either of you get away
his.
“You and that bitch, I’ll make you both pay for this!”
With her final threat hanging in the air, Joanne stormed out, her eyes rimmed with tears.
Joanne had completely killed Victor’s good mood.

Chapter 168
Victor dropped Skylar’s hand, slumped into his seat, and muttered, “She’s completely nuts.”
Skylar also settled back into her seat, looked at Victor, and asked, “Victor, how long has she been pestering you like this?”
He said, “On and off, it’s been about two or three months now. My last show wrapped up about six months ago,
“Ever since then, Joanne has been hounding me. She keeps showing up at my film sets and causing disruptions, making it impossible for me to get any
real work done.”
The only reason he finally got a break during his last variety show was because her dad had shipped her overseas. That was the only time he could actually breathe.
He said, “She’s totally nuts, sticks to me like glue, and no matter what I do, I just can’t get rid of her.”
Skylar shot Victor a sympathetic look. “Why not just ask Blake for help?”
Victor pressed his lips together. “I’m an adult now, I can’t keep bothering Blake. Besides, she’s just some girl. You think I can’t handle her?”
Victor said this because he didn’t want Skylar to think he was incompetent.
After all, he was the older brother, he had to maintain some dignity.
