Skylar noticed Adam was sweating a lot and, worried he might get dehydrated, bought a bottle of water and fed him a few sips from time to time,
Adam stopped walking and tugged on his father’s pants. “Daddy, I want to go to the bathroom.”
“You take him,” Skylar said as she took the stuffed toy from his arms. “I’ll find a place to sit and wait for you two. Message me when you’re done.”
Yosef took the child’s hand and exchanged a glance with Skylar. “It’s already getting late. You go find a place to eat, order something, and wait for us while eating.”
Skylar checked the time. It was almost noon and time for lunch.
“I’ll send you my location in a bit,” she said.
Yosef nodded.
He took Adam to the restroom. He was about to go in with Adam, but the boy blocked the doorway. “Dad, wait outside.”
Yosef raised an eyebrow. “You can manage on your
own?”
This kind of public restroom in large facilities wasn’t like a toilet at home.
For easier cleaning and better hygiene, the stalls had basic metal partitions and standard toilet seats without lids.
Adam was still young. Using a public toilet by himself could be difficult for him
He blushed. “I can do it.”
Ever since he’d learned to go on his own, he had never let anyone accompany him. It was too embarrassing to be seen naked.
Adam said, “Daddy, just wait outside.”
Seeing his insistence, Yosef nodded and didn’t follow him in.
A man wearing a white mask and a black baseball cap brushed past him and hurried into the restroom.
Yosef frowned deeply and patted the spot on his arm where the man had bumped him.
A while passed, and Adam still hadn’t come out. Yosef started to feel something was off.
He approached the restroom, gently pushed open the stall doors, and called softly, “Adam?”
He called out several times and checked every stall, but didn’t see a single strand of the child’s hair.
Yosef realized his son had been abducted. He let out a cold laugh. “Pretty bold. Kidnapping my son right under my nose?
He recalled the strange man earlier. The one who went into the restroom and hadn’t come out.
Thinking about it now, Adam’s disappearance had to be connected to him.
He looked at the open window.
They were on the ground floor. Behind the building was an unmonitored area. The man must have taken Adam out of the window unnoticed.
Yosef’s eyes filled with stormy rage. He pulled out his phone and called Hudson. “Hudson, send a team over to me right now.”
He sent Hudson the address, then called the police to request immediate assistance.

Then he asked for the amusement park manager’s contact number and called him, ordering the park to be locked down.
The manager, Milo Peck, had just picked up the phone and was annoyed at being bossed around. “Who are you? Why should I listen to you?”
He replied calmly, “I’m Yosef Campbell. My son was abducted in your park. If anything happens to him, your amusement park is finished.”
Yosef, CEO of Campbell Group, was not someone to cross lightly. Anyone who upset him rarely came out unscathed.
Terrified, Milo instantly changed his tone. “Mr. Campbell! I’m a careful man. I didn’t mean to offend you. Please don’t be mad.”
Trying to shift the topic and avoid blame, Milo quickly said, “You said a child was taken? Oh no, that’s serious. I’ll follow your instructions right away. Not even a mosquito will get out of this park.”
“Make it fast.” Yosef hung up without waiting for another word.
Milo dared not be angry. He gave orders immediately. They halted ticket sales and locked down all entrances and exits.
He posted staff at every exit with orders to catch anyone resembling the suspect described by Yosef.
Milo made a public broadcast to explain the situation and reassured guests. “Please stay calm. If you want to leave, you’ll need to queue. We ask for your understanding.”
Most visitors were parents with kids, and they could sympathize with a parent who had lost their child.
But a small number were upset and even started shouting, “What the hell? It’s just a lost kid. Is all this really necessary?”
“Unbelievable. That exit line is so long. When am I supposed to get out?”
“Someone else’s kid goes missing, and it’s my problem now? Don’t ruin my day, okay?”
Just as this small group began stirring trouble, the police arrived. They fell silent and dared not act up again.
Skylar had felt something was wrong ever since the broadcast said a child was missing. Her heart felt hollow, unsettled.
“Why are they taking so long to come back?” She checked the time again.
She thought, ‘Something is wrong. Very wrong.’
It had already been over half an hour. Even if he had diarrhea, it should be over by now.

She called Yosef and asked straight away, “Was Adam taken?”
Yosef let out a low “Yes.”
Skylar let out a bitter laugh. “You were watching him. You went with him. How could you let him disappear right under your nose?”
Yosef didn’t defend himself. “It’s my fault.”
“Of course it’s your fault!” Skylar was furious. Her hands were shaking. “Adam’s so young, and not even in good health. What if…”
She didn’t dare finish that sentence. She ran her hand through her hair. “Where are you? I’m coming to you right now. Prepare a computer for me. Yosef was in the monitoring room checking the surveillance footage. He gave her his location and ordered someone to prepare a laptop.
The staff asked Milo for permission. Milo agreed without hesitation. “From now on, listen to everything Mr. Campbell says. Do what he tells you.”
The staff understood the situation and acted fast, immediately setting up a computer for Yosef.

He kept reviewing the surveillance footage but couldn’t find a single clue. It was bizarre.
Unless the suspect could turn invisible, there was no reason they wouldn’t show up on camera.

That thought struck Yosef, and he turned to the two employees standing nearby. “You’ve been here the whole time?”
The tall, thin one replied, “Yes, we’ve been here the entire time. We didn’t leave.”
The stockier one contradicted him. “Wait a second. While we didn’t leave, someone did come in earlier. Said they needed to check the footage for something.”
Yosef instantly understood. This wasn’t a lone abduction. This was an organized group.
They were well–coordinated and capable enough to manipulate the park’s surveillance system.

Yosef was preparing to restore the original footage when Skylar arrived, still on the phone. “Okay, get your people here fast. If we delay, they’ll be gone.”
She hung up and glanced at Yosef. “Any leads?”
Yosef updated her calmly. “It’s a coordinated operation. They tampered with the surveillance. Right now, we can’t trace them.”
