Chapter 152
The three of them used their tickets and queued up to go through security into the amusement park.
Just as they entered, a salesperson enthusiastically approached them, holding a cartoon–themed outfit in her hands with several more draped over her
arm.
“Little one, this is from our store. It has a cute little yellow duck on it. Do you like it?”
Skylar raised an eyebrow slightly. This salesperson really knew how to sell.
Winning over the child meant winning over the parents. Kids naturally couldn’t resist cute things. Once they laid eyes on it, it would be hard to walk away without buying.
Skylar didn’t really mind. As long as Adam was happy, that was enough for her.
She lowered her gaze slightly, waiting to see the little one’s reaction.
Adam touched the little yellow duck and said, “So cute.”
He turned his head to look at his dad. “Daddy, can I have it?”
Yosef didn’t really want to buy it for him.
Adam had always been frail, and he was worried that cheap and unregulated clothing might affect his health. He always made sure Adam got the best of everything.
Street vendor clothes like these didn’t even qualify to appear in front of them.”
Yosef kept a cold face and didn’t respond.
His silence meant refusal. Adam looked heartbroken, reluctantly glancing at the clothes in the salesperson’s hands.
He said, “No, thank you, miss. Daddy won’t let me buy it.”
Skylar pulled out her phone. “I’ll take one.”
The gloom on Adam’s face vanished in an instant, replaced by pure joy. “Thank you, Mommy!” he said, hugging the outfit tightly.
The salesperson seized the moment to pitch again. “This is a family matching outfit. Do Mommy and Daddy want one too?”
Upon hearing that, Adam nodded eagerly. “Yes! We want one!”
Skylar was about to say no, but the moment she met her son’s hopeful eyes, she couldn’t bring herself to say it.
She raised her hand to scan the payment code, but a large hand blocked her phone camera.
“I’ll do it.” Yosef pulled out his phone, paid, took the clothes, and handed the smaller one to Skylar.
Since it was already bought, she didn’t act coy and accepted the outfit.
“Mommy, Daddy, and our little one can go to the store to change. We also offer a free family photo,” the salesperson said.
Adam’s eyes lit up. “Really?”
The salesperson put down the clothes, pulled out a camera, and showed it to Adam. “Really.”
Adam was over the moon. “Mommy, Daddy, let’s go change clothes and take a photo together!”
Chapter 152
He had never taken a family photo with both his parents.
Now that there was a chance to wear matching clothes and take one, there was no way he’d miss it.
Truth be told, Skylar hadn’t taken a photo with Yosef in years.
Their only photo together was the wedding photo from years ago.
That day, she waited joyfully until she was drained and disappointed. Though he eventually showed up, he had a sour face the whole time, displaying his resentment toward the marriage.
She hadn’t been in a good state either. The photographer kept trying to get them into a better mood but failed.
Their wedding photo shoot had been a disaster.
Skylar smirked. “Adam, your dad doesn’t like taking photos. We’ll take one, just the two of us.”
Adam asked, “Daddy, are you not going to take one?”
Yosef also recalled that wedding photo shoot from five years ago.
Back then, he’d felt trapped and hated the marriage forced upon him.
In
the end, the photographer gave up.
The photographer had told him to smile, but he hadn’t even bothered to pretend. The final photos turned out terrible.
Even after some editing, it was clear from their expressions that the mood had been off.
He knew words now wouldn’t make up for anything. He could only try to show his sincerity through action.
Yosef said, “I’ll take the photo.”
Adam tugged at his mom’s sleeve. “Mommy, Daddy said he’ll take it with us.”
“Yeah. Theard.” Skylar kept a calm expression, but inwardly, she was utterly surprised.
Yosef’s behavior today was worlds apart from how he used to be. It was like he’d become a different person.
She couldn’t help glancing at him again.
“I just want to fulfill Adam’s wish,” he explained.
She’d heard that Yosef was very indulgent with his child. If Adam wanted a photo, of course he wouldn’t say no.
Skylar adjusted the clothes in her hands, then held Adam’s hand and went inside to change. Yosef followed behind them.
After they came out, their good looks instantly attracted a small crowd.
Skylar wasn’t wearing makeup, just sunscreen and a lightly tinted lip balm.
Even so, she looked effortlessly beautiful, like a fresh blossom untouched by artifice.
Yosef had a tall, lean build. He was muscular without being bulky. His face, cool and refined, made him look like a walking fashion model. Their son inherited the best features from both Adam had delicate features and a smooth, slightly chubby face. He was absolutely adorable.
A simple outfit looked luxurious on the three of them.
The salesperson beamed. “Alright, Daddy, Mommy, and the little one, stand together! Time to take the picture! Say cheese?
Chapter 152
Skylar smiled. Yosef also lifted a subtle smile. In between them, Adam grinned brightly.
The salesperson printed out the photo and handed it to them.
Adam held the picture, looking at it over and over again like it was a treasure.
Seeing how happy he was made Skylar smile inwardly too.
It was also the first time Yosef had seen his son this happy.
His first time wearing matching clothes, first family photo. He glanced sideways at Skylar. It wasn’t a bad feeling.
Following the map, they skipped the more thrilling rides and stuck to the ones safe for kids.
They rode the carousel, the Ferris wheel, and then played a balloon–popping game. Yosef popped all the balloons and won a huge stuffed toy
Adam opened his arms. “Boss, give it to me!”
The vendor laughed. “Little guy, this toy’s too big for you to carry.”
Adam insisted. “I wanna try!”
The vendor handed it over. Adam hugged the plush toy, which was twice his size, and promptly plopped down onto the ground.
He wasn’t embarrassed. He stood back up, brushed off the dust, and giggled. “Okay, maybe it is a bit too big.”
Adam said, “Daddy, you carry it.”
The all–powerful CEO of Campbell Group, a man who could shake half the financial world with one move, had now been reduced to a pack mule.
Holding the giant plush, Yosef’s usual frosty aura softened a little. He looked more approachable.
Adam, thoroughly content, held his dad’s free hand and then reached out to hold his mom’s as well, swinging them back and forth, his face glowing with happiness.
From behind, they truly looked like a harmonious family.
However, someone was watching them from afar. They lowered their gaze, adjusted their hat, and pulled their sunglasses further down to cover more of their face.
AD
