Oh King 143
Chapter 143
Yana wanted to take Adam out to play, hoping to distract him from all the unhappy thoughts.
Adam thought for a while and looked at his mom. “Mommy, is Daddy still coming?”
He didn’t want to go back with his father, but he did want to see him. He needed to confirm whether he was truly his father’s child.
Skylar just then remembered she hadn’t sent a message to Yosef yet to tell him not to come.
“I’ll text him right now,” Skylar said.
“Let Daddy come,” Adam said, tugging on Yana’s hand. “Grandma, I can’t go out to play with you. I want to stay home and wait for Daddy.”
Yana nodded. “Alright.”
Freya, watching everyone focus on Adam, felt bitter and resentful.
Even in the Lambert family household now, an outsider like Adam held a higher status than she did. She was still injured, and when Blake helped her in earlier, no one even asked how she was.
Her heart burned with jealousy. She shot a few spiteful glances at Adam.
Then Freya deliberately stood up. “Mom, I’m not feeling well. I’ll go upstairs and rest.”
Yana responded indifferently with a wave of her hand. “Go ahead.”
Ever since she found out that Freya had been lying to them all this time, her disappointment in her adopted daughter had grown.
Despite the disappointment, there was still some emotional attachment, but Yana no longer knew how to treat Freya.
Yana heaved a weary sigh.
Freya limped toward the stairs.
Her unusual state caught Yana’s attention. “Freya, what happened to your leg?”
“I twisted it accidentally,” she replied, turning her head.
“Why didn’t you get it checked?” Yana frowned. “I’ll have the family doctor take a look later. Blake, help your sister upstairs.”
Blake knew what little schemes Freya had in her heart. While supporting her upstairs, he said in a low voice, “You don’t need to hurt yourself just to gain
attention.”
He added, “If you want to be part of this family and not get kicked out, you should drop all those thoughts and behave. Otherwise, you’ll end up hurting yourself.”
Freya gripped her hands tightly. “Blake, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Blake cast her a cold glance and gave a faint smile/mocking. “Doesn’t matter if you don’t get it. Just don’t cross the line.”
At her door, he let go. “You can walk in on your own, right?”
Freya nodded. “Thank you, Blake.”
But as soon as she stepped inside, the smile on her face disappeared.
A gloomy expression settled over her features. “Why shouldn’t I fight for my share?”

Chapter 143
She muttered, “I’ve been in this family for so many years, acting as a replacement for their real daughter for over two decades. Everything in this family should belong to me. I won’t give up. I’ll never let go of what’s mine.”
She leaned against the door, fury and resentment raging in her eyes.
Adam sat on the sofa, leaning against his mom while holding a tablet.
He saw something on the internet.
[OMG, is it true? If she really did that, then didn’t Mr. Campbell get totally played?]
[Maybe it happened before she was with Mr. Campbell?]
[Doesn’t matter. It still means he raised someone else’s child for years. Poor guy.]
Adam wanted to read more, but the post and all the comments suddenly disappeared.
He pressed his lips together, aimlessly scrolling through the tablet, obviously distracted.
Skylar had also come across the post. She looked over at Adam and, seeing how quiet and lost he seemed, took the tablet from his hands.
She said, “You’ve been watching for too long. No more. Let’s build some blocks together.”
Adam shook his head, not in the mood. “I don’t want to.”
Right now, all he wanted was to see his daddy and get answers.
Skylar held his hand. It was ice cold. She frowned, rubbing warmth back into his fingers silently.
Her phone rang.
Skylar answered the phone. “Are you here? Alright, just wait for me at a cafe nearby.”
She hung up and looked into Adam’s big eyes. “Your daddy is here. I’ll take you to see him.”
Adam nodded.
Skylar brought Adam to the cafe. As soon as Adam saw Yosef, he threw himself into his arms. “Daddy…”
Yosef asked, “What’s wrong?”
“They’re all saying I’m not your san. Am I really not?” Even though Skylar had already said he was, Adam still felt anxious. He needed to hear it from Yosef.
Yosef gently cupped Adam’s face in his hands, looking into his eyes. His voice was firm and reassuring. “You are my son. But she is not your biological mother.”
Adam was both surprised and happy. “Really? She’s not?”
“Yes,” Yosef affirmed simply.
That one simple, firm syllable from Yosef shook both of them.
Skylar’s heart started racing.
Adam wasn’t Elianna’s child. Then that meant Adam was her child.
Chapter 143
She was overwhelmed with joy. “Adam, would you do a DNA test with me?”
She could hardly contain herself. She was so excited she felt like she might burst. Still, just to be sure, a test was necessary.
Adam didn’t quite understand why Skylar wanted a test all of a sudden, but he trusted her and nodded. “Okay”
Yosef noticed Skylar’s odd behavior and became suspicious. ‘Why would she suddenly want to do a test with Adam?‘
Yosef’s mind raced. ‘Could it be…?‘
He asked, “You were pregnant five years ago?”
Skylar was silent for a long time, then gently nodded. “Yes.”
Yosef stood up, locking eyes with her. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Tell you?” Skylar gave a bitter laugh. “Do you even remember what you said to me back then?”
Yosef remembered. He’d spoken to her impatiently and ordered her to donate blood to Elianna.
He opened his mouth, but in the end, could only squeeze out a weak. “I’m sorry.”
At the time, he’d resented her deeply.
He hated being manipulated, and she’d done exactly that, forcing herself into a marriage with him using methods he despised.
Back then, Yosef didn’t treat Skylar with any kindness.
To make things worse, Elianna constantly whispered that Skylar

get her. That she only married into the Campbell family to help Zachary.
So after they got married, his treatment of her was cold and cruel.
But Skylar had been foolish. She treated him kindly, and her every action seemed like proof of her love for him.
He ignored all of it. It wasn’t until she disappeared that he realized maybe he didn’t hate her as much as he thought.
But it was too late. The damage was done. No apology could undo it.
Skylar said, “I don’t want to talk about the past anymore. Right now, I just want to know. Is Adam my child?”
The one she thought she lost. The one who was stolen away by Elianna’s deceit.
