Chapter 141
Sitting in the front row, David turned his head and spotted the striking figure of Skylar in the crowd. His expression immediately turned furious as he stood up. “Skylart”
The moment he recalled how this adopted daughter had been targeting the Stone family ever since her return, his rage boiled over,
He stormed past several rows of chairs toward her, raising his hand as if to strike.
But just as his hand was about to come down, a force yanked him back.
He turned his head and found himself facing Blake’s icy glare. The overwhelming pressure radiating from Blake’s eyes sent a chill down his spine. He couldn’t help but tremble,
“Mr. Lambert…” David stammered.
Blake snapped, “You dare lay a hand on her?”
David was stunned. “You and her, you two…”
Blake commanded icily, “Get out.”
Blake’s sharp tone made David flinch, his fat body visibly trembling as he swallowed hard.
Though intimidated, David reminded himself he was now the father–in–law of Yosef. That gave him some courage. “Mr. Lambert, you may not know this, but she’s my adopted daughter.”
He continued, “She has a terrible character and constantly bullies her younger sister. Today, she even caused such a disgraceful scene at the engagement ceremony. I can’t just let her get away with it. This is a family matter. Please stay out of it.”
Blake, calm but exuding authority, replied with a cold question, “What did you just say?”
David shivered, stumbling over his words. “I said… I…”
Blake warned icily, “Get out of my sight right now, or else…”
David turned toward Yosef for help, who had just stepped off the stage and was walking toward them.
His eyes lit up. “Yosef! You’re my dear son–in–law. Come!”
Yosef looked at him coldly. “Don’t use that fawning tone.”
Someone in the crowd couldn’t help but chuckle.
Humiliated, David tried to save face. “Mr. Campbell, you’re my daughter’s fiancé. You have to stand on her side!”
Yosef cut in coldly, “I’m not.”
David stared in disbelief. “What?”
Yosef sneered. “The ceremony wasn’t completed, I’m not her fiancé.”
David gritted his teeth. “You can’t abandon Elianna over this one incident. She waited for you for so long, even gave birth to your child!”
Rebecca helped the trembling Elianna over.
She said, “Mr. Campbell, even if you’re angry, please consider the child.”

Chapter 141
The Stone family was trying to stand on the moral high ground and pressure Yosef. Unfortunately, he wasn’t buying it.
Yosef chuckled coldly. “Elianna, I’ve been keeping quiet for the child’s sake, but you know exactly what you’ve done.”
Elianna’s face went deathly pale.
‘What does Yosef know? Could it be… that matter? No way! Impossible!‘ Elianna wondered, panic rising in her chest.
Elianna forced herself to calm down and said, “Yosef, I swear I’ve never done anything like that. You have to believe me! I was set up!”
“If you don’t believe me, then I’ll die to prove my innocence!” She was about to throw herself at a wall.
Rebecca grabbed her frantically, sobbing. “My poor daughter! What did you do to deserve all this?”
“Mr. Campbell, you’ve known Elianna for years. You know her character. Don’t be blinded by a scheming woman,” David added, staring straight at Skylar.
Skylar let out a mocking laugh. “No wonder Ms. Stone is so brainless. It must be genetic.”
David pointed at her in fury. “You little bitch, you…”
Then, David let out a piercing scream. Blake snapped his finger back.
Blake warned, “Point that filthy finger one more time, and I’ll cut it off.”
David howled in pain, his body twisting in agony.
With red–rimmed eyes, Rebecca released her daughter and rushed to her husband. “David…” she choked out.
She pleaded, “Mr. Lambert, please, I’m begging you. If this goes on, his hand will really be broken!”
Blake only tightened his grip.
Rebecca begged, “Skylar, even if we’re not your biological parents, we still raised you. How can you be so cold and not say a word?”
She could tell Skylar held a special place in Blake’s heart. If Skylar said something, he would surely let them go.
To be fair, Rebecca had treated her somewhat kindly in the past. But she was too weak, always blindly following David.
Skylar took a deep breath. “Blake, let him go. Don’t dirty your hands.”
At that moment, Freya, who had been watching quietly and piecing everything together, finally stepped forward.
She locked eyes with Elianna briefly, but both quickly looked away.
She said, “Blake, no matter what, he’s still Skylar’s adoptive father. Let it go, just this once.”
Blake released his grip.
David was drenched in sweat from the pain, cradling/his hand and panting heavily on the floor.
“Skylar, let’s go.” Blake didn’t want her to deal with this vile family any longer.
Skylar stood up with Adam in her arms.
It was only then that Elianna noticed. Skylar had brought Adam here.
Suddenly, Elianna lost control and lunged at Skylar. “Give me back my child! Give my baby back!”
She knew Yosef cared so much about this bastard. As long as its identity remained hidden, the child was still hers.
Chapter 141
With the child, she still had a shot at turning things around. But Skylar didn’t move.
Yosef grabbed the crazed Elianna, keeping her from getting anywhere near Adam.
Elianna screamed, “Adam! I’m your mother! I’m your real mother! Look at me! Look at me!”
Afraid Adam might be startled by Elianna’s shrill screams, Skylar gently patted his back to soothe him. “It’s okay. We’ll be home soon.”
Adam obediently leaned against her shoulder, gently nuzzling into her.
Skylar left with Adam in her arms. Blake helped Freya as they followed behind.
Watching her last hope disappear, Elianna’s eyes lost all light. She mumbled to herself, “It’s over. Everything’s over.”
Yosef let go of her hand. “Elianna, I’ll settle things with you about the project plan and Adam. One by one.”
Elianna’s heart sank. ‘So he did know everything!”
Elianna felt as if she were facing her worst nightmare. She bit her lip in panic, her eyes brimming with tears of fear.
Without another word or glance, Yosef turned and left.
He stepped into the adjoining hall.
This side was originally set up for the party.
Despite the chaos earlier, the guests were now chatting and drinking like nothing had happened.
Seeing Yosef arrive, Stephen knew everything had been handled. He told his assistant to continue entertaining the guests, then followed Yosef into a private room.
Inside, Aaron was lazily sprawled across a sofa, his posture completely undignified.
Stephen snapped, “You stupid brat!”
Aaron glanced lazily at his enraged grandfather. “Grandpa, are you calling me?”
Stephen asked, “Who gave you permission to do this?”
Aaron replied, “Aren’t you the one who always has people watching me? You must’ve known. I thought you approved.”
Stephen nearly coughed up blood in rage. The taste of iron rose in his throat, but he forced it down.
He raised his hand and gave Aaron a hard slap across the face. “You disgrace!”
