Chapter 140
Elianna thought to herself, ‘Even if Skylar comes back, so what? She’s bound to lose to me again!
Elianna withdrew her gaze and walked step by step toward the position that belonged to her.
As long as she put in a little more effort, the position of CEO’s wife of Campbell Group would be in her grasp.
Thinking this, the smile on her face grew even more radiant.
Yosef swept the scene with an unreadable expression. When he spotted Skylar and Adam, the coldness in his eyes softened slightly.
His peripheral vision caught Aaron sitting in the corner. Aaron’s face was hidden in the shadows, making it hard to see his expression clearly.
Yosef’s gaze casually met Hudson’s in the audience.
Hudson gave a slight nod.
The host said a bunch of blessings with a beaming smile, “Next, let’s have our engaged couple exchange their engagement rings.”
Elianna could barely contain her excitement, her hand trembling uncontrollably from joy.
Yosef slowly took out the lady’s ring.
Elianna waited eagerly for him to put the ring on her finger.
“Wait.” The man in the corner moved.
Aaron straightened his clothes and stood up. “I have something to say.”
He walked through the crowd, stepped onto the stage, grabbed the host’s mic, and pushed the dumbfounded host aside.
He said, “Today is the happy day of Yosef’s engagement, and also the day I officially take over Campbell Group.”
Aaron deliberately chose this day because Yosef would lower his guard and be easier to catch off guard.
But more importantly, he wanted to publicly humiliate Yosef.
He wanted to make sure Yosef would never again lift his head among the elite families.
Elianna was fuming. ‘What the hell is Aaron doing?‘
She was just one step away from exchanging rings with Yosef. Only then would the engagement be truly complete.
She thought he was her ally, but it seemed he wanted to ruin her engagement.
“Aaron, this is my and Yosef’s engagement ceremony. Can’t you wait until after the ceremony to say what you have to say?” Elianna’s voice was firm, especially that last sentence, laced with warning.
Aaron ignored her and spoke into the mic to the audience, “Many shareholders are here to show their support, let’s not waste this opportunity.”
He gave a meaningful glance at the shareholders, signaling them to stand up and declare Yosef unfit to lead and force him to step down.
But the shareholders acted like they hadn’t seen a thing, each one either lowering their head or pretending to be busy.
Aaron’s expression darkened instantly. They betrayed him at the last second.
Staring at the puzzled crowd, he forced out a laugh. “I just felt the atmosphere was too tense and wanted to lighten things up.”

Chapter 140
He shoved the mic back into the host’s arms and clenched his fists, quickly stepping off the stage.
Aaron tried to sneak out quietly, but before he could leave, someone emerged from the shadows, grabbed his shoulder, and forced him back into his
seat.
Looking at the situation, everything became clear.
Yosef must have known all along what he planned and just played dumb, waiting for him to fall into the trap and embarrass himself at the engagement
party.
Aaron was fuming. He stared daggers at Yosef on stage.
If it weren’t for the two strong bodyguards holding him down, he would’ve rushed up there and torn Yosef apart.
Elianna also stared straight at Aaron.
She recalled what Aaron had her do. She figured it might be related to what he tried today.
But Aaron lost. Yosef had already prepared.
Elianna thought anxiously, ‘So… did Yosef know about my involvement too?‘ Her body trembled. She didn’t dare think further.
“Yosef, it’s all over now. You should put the ring on me,” she urged him, wanting this matter to be settled quickly.
Once the ring was on, they’d be officially engaged.
Even if Yosef wanted to break off the engagement later, he’d have to consider the public backlash.
Yosef held the ring and looked at her quietly. “Elianna, did you really think I was unconscious that night?”
Elianna’s back went cold. “Yosef, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Put the ring on already. Everyone’s watching. Don’t waste their time.”
Yosef sneered and put the ring back in the box. “If you’ve done it once, you’ll do it again. I won’t keep a ticking time bomb by my side.”
Elianna’s eyes reddened. She clutched his hand. “Yosef, I’m begging you. Please don’t do this. Let’s talk after the ceremony. I’ll explain everything.”
Yosef didn’t smile, just pried her fingers off one by one. “You’re not worthy.”
“Yosef, I’m begging you. One last chance.” Elianna pleaded humbly.
Yosef remained unmoved.
The audience was growing confused as they watched the two struggling on stage.
“What’s going on? Why haven’t they exchanged rings?”
“Are they arguing?”
“Is the engagement still happening?”
Adam tilted her head. “Mommy, what’s wrong with them?”
Skylar had an idea. She softly told the little one.“Looks like your daddy discovered something.”
Adam asked, “What was it?”
Skylar shook her head. “I’m not exactly sure.”
Adam swung her little legs, smiling. “That’s okay. I’ll go ask Daddy later and tell you.”
Chapter 140
Skylar smiled faintly. “Alright.”
Back on stage. Yosef turned to leave, and Elianna, panicked, hugged him tightly. “Yosef, don’t go.“.
At that moment, the screen behind them suddenly lit up.
Heavy breathing and moans filled the hall, echoing in everyone’s ears.
The audience stared at the screen wide–eyed.
“Oh my god, this is intense!”
“Seriously, a whole group did that together?”
The moment the screen lit up, Skylar instantly covered her child’s eyes and ears.
Her baby couldn’t be tainted by such filth.
Elianna heard the odd reactions from the crowd, and her heart started pounding. She turned her head and saw herself naked on the screen.
Elianna shrieked and jumped in front of the screen. “Shut your eyes! Don’t look!”
Her eyes were bloodshot as she scanned the audience furiously.
Elianna screamed hysterically, “Who did this? Who did it?”
Not a single soul answered her.
Stephen was quick to respond, instructing his assistant and Hudson to move the guests to another room and calm them down.
He also had the bodyguards take Aaron to a small private room and guard him tightly.
“Turn it off! Why are you still standing there? Turn it off!” Elianna screamed at the host.
Only then did the host snap out of it and rush to turn off the projector.
But it was too late. Everyone had already seen what they shouldn’t have.
Even Yosef hadn’t expected Elianna to have this kind of side.
“Yosef, it’s not what you think! Please, let me explain…” Elianna bit her lip, looking pitiful. “Someone used Al to fake it. It’s not real. I was framed!”
“It was her! It must be her!” She pointed furiously at Skylar in the audience, her voice shrill. “Skylar, you bitch! You did this to me!”
Skylar rolled her eyes. “Stop barking like a dog. Idiot.”
