Chapter 137
David smiled, his face bunching up with joy. “That’s good, very good.”
Elianna was overjoyed. She hadn’t expected Yosef to actually agree.
After all these years, she was finally going to become the rightful future Mrs. Campbell.
It took her a long time to calm down upstairs before she composed herself and walked down as if she didn’t know anything.
With a look of surprise and delight, she hurried to Yosef’s side like a shy young girl. “Yosef, what brings you here?”
“To discuss the engagement,” Yosef said flatly.
Elianna beamed with joy. “Yosef, really? Has the day finally come?”
Yosef remained expressionless as he watched her performance, feeling nothing inside.
“Look how happy she is.” David chuckled indulgently. “By the way, Mr. Campbell, the recent online stuff, was that all thanks to you?”
The online criticism had quieted down significantly in recent days. Though some people still badmouthed Elianna now and then, it wasn’t a big issue
anymore.
Yosef said, “It was my grandfather’s order.”
David replied, “Thank him for us. I’ll be sure to visit and thank him personally soon.”
Yosef didn’t respond and changed the subject. “I’d like to hold the engagement ceremony the day after tomorrow. What do you think?”
David waved his hand. “We’re fine with anything. After all, the Campbell family will handle everything. We wouldn’t dare intervene.”
Yosef turned to Elianna. “And your thoughts?”
Elianna’s cheeks flushed as she murmured shyly, “Whatever you say, Yosef.”
Her overly coy manner made Yosef frown slightly. He pressed his lips, together. “Then it’s settled. I’ll have a professional team handle all the arrangements. Just cooperate with them.”
The Stone family had no objections.
Once everything was decided, Yosef stood to leave.
Elianna wanted a backup plan. In case Aaron failed, she’d still have a way out.
She asked, “Yosef, it’s getting late. Why don’t you stay the night?”
David said, “Yes, stay. You two can get to know each other better. Maybe something could happen. Give the Campbell family another child. That would be perfect.”
David was also hoping Yosef would stay the night. He figured it would give the young couple a chance to grow closer. And if things went well, maybe something intimate might happen. If they could produce a Campbell heir, that would be even better, further securing the marriage alliance.
Yosef glanced at Hudson. Hudson stepped in at the right time. “Mr. Campbell still has work to do. It’s not convenient to stay.”
David looked regretful. “Alright, take care of work first. Come by when you’re free.”
Yosef nodded.

Chapter 137
Elianna still wouldn’t give up. “Yosef, can I come with you? I can give you massages while you work, help you relax.”
Yosef’s eyes darkened slightly, and he said with a faint smile, “Sure.”
He wanted to see what tricks Elianna had up her sleeve.
Elianna got her wish and followed him back to the Campbell family estate.
While Yosef was in the study attending meetings, she brought him a glass of milk laced with something and gently told him. “Yosef, I bring milk for you. Don’t forget to drink it.”
After delivering the milk, she left the study, took a bath, and changed into a seductive nightgown she had brought from home.
It was a white lace piece, her skin glowing under the light, curves barely hidden by the translucent fabric. Just a glance would get anyone’s pumping.
She also dabbed on some seductive perfume. Looking at her reflection in the mirror, she smiled and ran her fingers across her red lips.
Men were animals driven by lust. She thought even someone as composed as Yosef couldn’t be an exception.
She turned off the light and got into his bed, lying there excitedly, waiting.
But she waited and waited, and not even a shadow of him appeared.
