Chapter 130
This case had just passed the statute of limitations. Coupled with the fact that her lawyer had obtained a document proving she had a severe mental illness, Elianna was not convicted. She was released.
On the day she got out of prison, the victim’s family blocked her path and beat her up.
Elianna couldn’t dodge in time, and there weren’t many people around her. She was beaten so badly that she screamed, “You filthy lowlifes, how dare you hit me! Are you tired of living?”
Hearing her insults only infuriated them more, and they hit her even harder.
They weren’t as noble as this spoiled heiress, but their lives mattered too.
Fury surged, and every punch carried the weight of hatred.
When the police came to stop them and pulled everyone apart, Elianna and her lawyer were covered in bruises from head to toe.
Elianna’s face was swollen beyond recognition. She screamed through tears, demanding they be held accountable.
The victim’s family members were emotionally overwhelmed. They broke free from the officers and charged at her again.
Terrified, Elianna hid behind the police officer and didn’t dare say another word.
The police officers restrained the family once more, gently trying to calm them down.
Elianna and her fawyer ran to the car that had come to pick her up.
Battered and bruised, she returned home. But David didn’t even glance at her injuries and immediately berated her, “This is how you handle things? Not only did you fail to take down Skylar, but you were the one who got played.”
He added, “And now, thanks to you, the internet is full of people attacking us. They’re boycotting our company, and our stock prices are plummeting!”
Red–eyed with rage, David kicked her in the stomach. “Useless piece of trash!”
Elianna was knocked over, lying on the floor, clutching her stomach, her face twisted in pain.
Rebecca sobbed. “Why are you hitting her like that? What if you injure her?”
David snapped, “Shut up! Or I’ll beat you too!”
Rebecca didn’t dare say another word. She wiped her tears while looking at Elianna with worry.
David’s cold gaze fell on Elianna. “If you can’t fix this, I’ll kick you out of the Stone family! Zachary is enough for the Stone family. A daughter like you doesn’t matter anymore.”
His words made it clear. If Elianna became useless, she would be discarded without hesitation.
Elianna felt a chill in her heart.
She always knew David was cold–blooded, but she never imagined he could be this ruthless.
In her moment of need, he didn’t even think about helping her, only how to push her further into the pit.
She was filled with hate. Enduring the pain, she forced herself up from the ground.
Completely losing her mind, Elianna glared at David. “I’m worthless? And what the hell are you, then?”

Chapter 130
She continued, “When I was useful, you treated me like a treasure. The moment I became a liability, you turned on me like I was your enemy, like you wanted me dead. So what if I’m disgraced now? Don’t forget, I’m Yosef’s fiancée.”
That reminded David of her relationship with Yosef.
Yosef had publicly announced Elianna as his fiancée several years ago.
Though nothing more had happened since then, no one knew what he was really thinking.
David snorted coldly. “He just said that casually. Only you would actually believe it.”
Elianna lifted her chin. “I will be engaged to him.”
David paused.
If she really could get engaged to Yosef, there was a chance he might help the Stone family. And even if he didn’t, others who followed the winds of power would come running to cooperate with the Stone family.
That would solve the Stone family’s current crisis.
